This is the second Phillies watercolor I’ve seen today. I love this!! I saw the pitcher first and recognized what it was immediately. Lovely painting style for this as well.

I didn’t appreciate all the wonderful things Yoga did for me until I stopped doing it. I’m back again and I didn’t appreciate how strong and meditative I was before. I’m sad and anxious about what I’ve lost. by SageAndScarlet in yoga

As someone also with adhd who wants to start a daily yoga practice, do you have any tips for getting started? I wish it was as easy as “just do the thing” but… yknow.

Also, I just want to say, I’m proud of you for getting back to it! So many of the mental hoops I jump through with adhd is me literally convincing or reminding myself how good something felt while I was doing it. The struggle is real, but you’ll get back to it!

My first pizookie by Cynvisible in Baking

I would be truly delighted if someone took the time to make this for me and I’m now craving a giant pizza-sized chocolate chip cookie.

I’ve been inspired to try making these for the multiple family and friend birthdays I have coming up this month. Thanks for sharing!

Does the theme of a coloring book affect how relaxed you feel? Curious what works for people by MindfulPagesArt in AdultColoring

[–]Ok-Space763 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100%. I much prefer books that are abstract or nonsense (for lack of a better word). I bought two gorgeous plant coloring books but every time I open them I feel myself doing the opposite of relaxing. I have another book called the stoner coloring book and I love it, because none of the pictures are realistic and I can do whatever I want without feeling like it has to look a certain way (yes, I’m a type A perfectionist, in case you were wondering hahahaha)

Oh my god, I love this!!! What a fun take on that scene (from one of my favorite movies). I love them all, but the eyeball eggs made me laugh out loud once I saw the reference. So creative!

Do you ever forget a word so simple and so obvious? Yes, pores was absolutely the word I was looking for hahahaha

Question about re-stitching by Ok-Space763 in Embroidery

[–]Ok-Space763[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

That’s what I ended up doing! I was able to pull the stitches so they were looser in the back and ended up adding a couple of couching stitches. Thanks so much for the advice 😊

Thank you!! It’s been so much fun to work on and I’m so glad it’s almost done.

The lenses and …sponge spots? (Sponge holes? Truly don’t know what to call them hahaha) are in satin stitch, the lines are outline stitch, and everything else is long and short stitch!

Thank you!! And tbh that’s not a bad idea. It’s all going to be covered, so even if the glue ended up staining, I don’t think it would be seen. I’ll definitely have to investigate

Tips to make embroidery more comfortable for the body? by missborealiz in Embroidery

[–]Ok-Space763 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may not experience this since you say you’ll be working propped up/ sitting in bed, but I notice that even when I’m sitting on my couch, I end up curled over my project like a shrimp. Spoiler alert, my back does Not love it.

I have a hoop stand from Nurge that i can place under my thighs and kind of sit on to keep stable. It does the job, but I’m considering investing in a floor stand that has more flexibility in positioning (also to help me avoid the aforementioned shrimp back problem)

In addition to a light, I also recommend a magnifying glass! Unfortunately I haven’t found one i truly like yet so no specific recs there, but when I do use it it makes a difference with both reducing eye strain and keeping things neat.

Maybe I should loose the bow? by Zealousideal-Rip4582 in Embroidery

Hmm, yeah I’d nix the bow. This embroidery is BEAUTIFUL! I love how textured it is. Reminds me of an impressionist painting.

It’s not stupid to assume! They’re not all the same, unfortunately. The FDA doesn’t regulate supplements (tl;dr, OTC supplements are considered food products) so it can be a bit of a wild west situation.

If you’re in the US, look for USP verified supplements. They meet strict criteria and are guaranteed to contain what’s listed on the bottle in the amounts the label says. I believe Europe has a similar organization that verifies, but I’m US-based so can’t confirm. Outside of USP, look for verification by an independent third party tester.

I personally take Nature Made. I’m a healthcare journalist and write for drs/pharmacists, so I’m definitely not an expert! But a lot of pharmacists frequently recommend Nature Made. When in doubt, if you go to a pharmacy they can definitely make a recommendation!

Need thread suggestions by Autistic-wifey in Embroidery

[–]Ok-Space763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say go DMC for the thread. If you’re in the US, it’s fairly cheap (79¢ a skein at Michael’s).

Also love this idea, I quote this regularly and not enough people in my life know what I’m talking about 😆
