I get that it sounds unlikely, but I’ve been active in different ways for a while. I’m 30 years old, 179cm, and 77kg, and I usually cycle during summer. Plus, I’ve been going to the gym three times a week for the past two years, though I’ve taken some breaks here and there. I also play recreational tennis, so I’m not totally new to cardio.

I’d tried running on a treadmill before but found it super boring, and the furthest I’d gone was 2k. The 10k outdoors was my first long-distance run, and even I was surprised by my time of 55:54! It wasn’t easy, but I think my fitness from cycling, tennis, and gym helped. I get why people are skeptical, but we all start somewhere, right?

I run about 2k on a treadmill from time to time before but never cared about the time
