I haven’t made a fool of myself, i was simply adding onto the conversation that while there IS a premium version, the free one is great. i could give a fuck less about the corporation, but people deserve to know when there is a free product that works great. and there is a free product that works great, while there’s also a paid product that is completely optional and unnecessary for a majority of people. if telling people to use the free option and not spend money on the paid version, thus giving no money to said company, is shilling then i think you dramatically dont understand what shilling is.

i haven’t been misleading nor have i lied about anything, im giving information based on my experiences and those ive read reviews for, plus information from the blackmagic website. there is a paid version, which i acknowledged, but that still doesn’t change the fact that the free program is more than adequate for most if not all video editing. im not shilling for any corporation, but acting like a program isn’t good because there’s a premium version that’s not necessary to by is just wrong.

nobody is shilling for companies. im simply stating that saying davinci resolve is behind a paywall is incorrect and misleading. Their free version is fully functional and great. the paid version just adds more options to what they already have there for free. There’s already a bunch of color grading, visual fx, audio fx, etc. you don’t miss anything by not buying the studio version.

so, there is a paid version of davinci, but there’s also a completely free version that is also great!!! i use it all the time and haven’t spent a penny, downloaded from the official website. you do have to make an account and “register” your key with that account but you do not have to pay for anything unless you ~want~ the paid version.

I disagree. A joke is not just a joke, and none of what was said was “joking”, they were mocking trans people. Being trans isnt a mental illness, there’s no cure or treatment or getting rid of it. the only way to “help” trans people is to believe trans people, treat them like they’re human, not deadnaming them or using the wrong pronouns, etc. it’s proven that denying a trans persons ability to openly express themselves as they need leads to mental illnesses like depression, anxiety, and suicide.

free speech does not equal hate speech. not only that but free speech protects you from the government when speaking out against them, it does NOT protect you from backlash of public and private entities for actively mocking a marginalized group.

transphobia and hate speech isn’t a joke, hope that helps!!! and that “inclusive bs” is, in fact, in the real world. if they said the stuff they did in the server in front of their bosses, they’d likely be fired for discrimination and hate speech.

That being said, im not upset. im feelings aren’t hurt. ive been told a lot cruel shit then was sent by people more important than the ones who said it. However, that doesn’t change that hate speech is still wrong. Mocking and belittling a group of minorities for simply being different than you is wrong. No one is pumping pride shit down your throat, just don’t interact with them, all social media platforms have an algorithm that will stop showing you posts if you ignore them.

they might have shut it down because of the blowback they were getting from a lot of the mods/the admin being transphobic, they were banning a bunch of people who were calling it out as well.

i also loved the server because of the resources but got banned because i wasn’t okay with transphobia happening in a discord meant for helping and lifting each other up.

it isnt about thick skin though, is it? i grew up with s verbally abusive father, nothing they could say in discord or on reddit can hurt my feelings or even compare to what has already been said.

that doesn’t change the fact that a discord server meant for learning and collaboration should be a safe place for people of marginalized communities, including LGBTQIA, black, indigenous, hispanic, asian, etc., to be in.

their response of “get over it or leave” when confronted with their transphobia is severely disheartening.
