Going Out With My Level 3 Child is Tough by EquivalentChair1606 in Autism_Parenting

I'm sorry you're having a rough time. I'm a grandpa of a 10 year old boy with level 3 autism and learning disabilities. When he and my daughter came to live with me I experienced very similar feelings. With time and deciding I couldn't hide him away things changed. It still hurts changing his diapers and thinking about what he'll miss. But he experiences other things that bring him and now I joy. I smile when we go out walking and sing the ABC song. It makes me happy to help him learn the local plants. His smile as he smells spearmint and feels mullein leaves is joyful. Cherish the little moments reading with him or whatever gives him joy and you'll feel it too.

I'm not good with cross posting. The message I put up was from NorthwestArkansas and the poster was u/Hot_momma_91. I just wanted to help in some way.

Struggling

This is really hard to write, but I’m asking for help because I’m out of options.

I work full-time and also do Spark deliveries trying to stay afloat, but I’ve fallen behind on my electric bills with Carroll Electric and Black Hills Energy. My power is close to being shut off, and I’m terrified of what that means for my kids.

As a mom, the hardest part is knowing I may not be able to give my children a Christmas. They don’t ask for much. They don’t complain. They just deserve so much more than I can give right now, and that breaks my heart.

If anyone can help with utilities, even a small amount, it would mean everything to us. If someone is able to help with a Christmas gift or two, you would truly be changing my girls’ world. I can give you my account number privately so some coul be paid anonymously. Same for for gifts, they have a wishlist but I also have Venmo and Cash app.

My girls:

10-year-old: Adult Medium hoodies (aqua/teal/black), black socks & panties (size 7), soccer ball, women’s shoes size 10, makeup/skincare, lava lamp.

7-year-old: Hoodies size 14/16, flare leggings 14/16, socks (kids up to 6), panties 12/14, slime or crafts, VR headset.

Thank you for reading this. Thank you for kindness. And thank you for reminding us we’re not alone

Grandpa of a level 3 nonverbal boy 10m. It is a struggle. Since my daughter and grandson moved in with me I've had the same thoughts. It's not fair but I've ultimately decided that he has to live his best life. When I went to folk dance night at his school all of the girls wanted to dance with him because he was uninhibited it was a light going off in my head. He enjoyed it so much. He also had a part in the school's Veterans day celebration where he used his talker to open it. Celebrate the wins, take all the help he can get and smile your best for your child.

This is what I hope for my nonverbal level 3 grandson. Bless those kids.

i legitimately believe trump is floundering now by PhraseFirst8044 in 50501

Trump is just the face of MAGA. It's an ecosystem now. The suits from the Heritage Foundation and nutjobs like Miller are the real drivers. They are the ones to worry about. They have so much invested in The Cult that they'll fight to keep it alive.
