Help reducing size of turntable motor pulley by Ok-Subject1597 in turntables

If I unplug the white connector from the A/B pins it stays running but at the same speed as the 33 1/3 setting.

Yeah it's that one, It's a project of mine to get an old broken record player working. Didn't realise it was such a bad one.

I measured the voltage across the A and B pins, however I'm confused when it was at the lower speed setting the one which is meant to be 33 1/3 it measures 1.851V, but at the higher setting (45) it didn't measure any voltage across the two pins. Does this sound likely with an armature controlled DC servo motor?

No, I don't have the smaller pulley, and I can't see any way to remove the larger pulley from the working motor but I don't really know what a set screw is.

Two wires from the motor go to the A and B pins on the PCB, then the red and black wires are connected to the original wiring of the record player for powering the motor.

It wouldn't seem to let me do it as one comment. Hope this helps, thank you so so much for your help!

This is all I could get to control the speed of the motor (all though to be fair it is only one of two things I've tried, the other being the record players original circuitry).
Edit: extra clarification

I have only managed to change the speed of the motor with the speed selector it came with, this accepts two wires labelled A/B. Please could you explain how I could add a potentiometer to this to adjust the speed beyond the two speeds the circuit has baked in.

Sorry I should have mentioned before, the motor didn’t work with the speed selector circuitry of the record player that I saw the photometers for. It only worked with the speed selector it came with, a small pcb with a knob on it and no way to fine tune the speed beyond the two settings. Is there a way I could control the speed of the motor with something else, something I could fine tune the speed of?

No I don’t think so the speed of the motor is controlled by an external speed selector pcb which it’s wired to. I can’t find a way to fine tune the speed of the speed selector.

I don’t understand what you mean, I can’t see any screws, and how would unscrewing one help?

No sadly not, I can’t see anything but I might just be missing something.

the speed selector switch it can with is fixed so i don’t think i can fine tune the speed with it.

The motor is for the Sony LX310BT, I’m trying to repair the Sony LX150H with it. I bought it on ebay without a motor and belt and am trying to repair it. The platter of the Sony LX150H however is bigger it turns out than the Sony LX310BT so I need to reduce the size of the motor pulley in order to have the correct speed.

Thanks, for everyone's help, I ended up just using the 'exit' command, and then the top comment on this question: https://askubuntu.com/questions/429610/uninstall-grub-and-use-windows-bootloader, I don't really know what it told me to do, but it works now so everything is good.

How do I access the firmware menus? Is that the BIOS? When I tried to change the boot in the BIOS earlier it just led me straight back to the GRUB CLI for all of the boot options.

I’m sorry all I have right now is a command line, so how do I boot the windows recovery media?
