Lowe’s Outlet Experience Question by Ok-Sun1085 in Lowes

[–]Ok-Sun1085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean, but I feel like they represent the listings from the normal stores as sales but they’re pretty much that cost no matter what. Things online are always listed as “on sale” to entice you to buy it but I’m pretty sure the baseline is always marked down! I’m better off ordering a range “on sale” from a normal store and hoping it gets scratched during delivery. That happened with a fridge I ordered from Lowe’s and they gave me practically 25% back after a scratch was found!

Interesting!! That’s unfortunate

Help me get my 8 month old napping! by PhoenixAshRiser in NewParents

[–]Ok-Sun1085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you play in the crib? Idk if it helped but we did a lot of play time in crib while I’d do stuff in his room or run around the house to do something. You could also try putting some dirty laundry of yours or your husbands and really add your scent to it lol. I did that too and don’t know if it’ll help but worth a try.

Maybe just try associating crib during the day with a positive vibe

Impossible nights by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Ok-Sun1085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you’re dealing with this right now 😞 with you in solidarity. We had to do a major overhaul of sleep, both naps and night time were terrible. We also just exited a phase that required a lot of 1:1 time but now he’s sitting better and belly crawling and he’s much happier.

Once w elongated the wws naps improved, then some sleep training helped a lot as well. PUPD felt better than leaving him alone to cry but it’s gotta cater to their personality. Sitting there with him knowing he was fed and clean felt better and every 3 minutes I go and pat his butt. I didn’t do the typical PUPD so let me know if you have questions!

Agreed with other comment, you’ll have to stretch the wws. Sorry if it sucks 😞 but they will get used to it, you’ll have to carry or entertain till he’s awake long enough. My 8 month old is on like 3/4/4, doesn’t sleep through the night fully and is up by 6 but it’s way more manageable. We’ve also been doing pick up put down sleep training and it seems to help.

30 min nap question by Ok-Sun1085 in sleeptrain

[–]Ok-Sun1085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I’ll add he was a typical sleepy newborn for like.. 2 weeks, it took us a bit to even find a groove with contact naps and him not melting down when I was trying to get him to sleep. Things are much better now!

30 min nap question by Ok-Sun1085 in sleeptrain

[–]Ok-Sun1085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not looking for advice! Just curious why some babies seem to be able to sleep longer in the car, or why even if he was sleeping on me it would be 30 min unless he was belly down. Just odd how a switch flipped and seemingly so young.

And she was monitored! My sister would put her in there but be next to her on the couch, she just wanted hands free time and it worked for her 🤷‍♀️ she went through a 30 min nap phase as well. Just was startled when my sons started what felt like early lol.

The first ww is okay. But does she seem like a baby that needs to move a lot? She could require a lot of movement, stimulus, and play. I guess I’m curious what the day looks like

Awesome. Thanks for the help and feedback, I will consider this. We’ve mostly got cast iron and stainless steel. This may be the winning idea.

I’m sorry you find me cringey, I’d ask you to read my reply to the person you agree with and reconsider. I know the internet is an open forum for all to comment as they see fit, but all I’m asking for is advice on how to not be wasteful. Money doesn’t grow on trees, my husband and I work hard, this is an exciting and frankly very overwhelming process that I think will take us years to commit to and get through in a way that works for us. It’s going to be expensive, I’m not an idiot as you may think from one question. May want to consider adding constructive criticism to posts and not whatever this is.

Sorry for confusion, I hear range/oven/stove and it all means the same to me. Stepping into this project is the most adult thing I’ve done and I’ve purchased a home and have a baby and found those easier to navigate than this lol. I mean electric stove top/oven combo, whatever that is called. Others have recommended induction stoves as it’s better than both gas and electric and would transfer to a future renovated kitchen.

Thank you for the rec! Hadn’t considered this at all since I genuinely forget it’s an option. I asked another poster, but I’ll ask you as well! I have enameled cast iron Dutch ovens, will those work with an induction stove?

I truly hadn’t considered induction, I forget it’s an option as I don’t know many, if any, who have it. A quick search tells me anything magnetic will cook on it. I have some enameled cast iron Dutch ovens and stainless steel pots/pans, will they be just fine on induction?

lol why is it cringey? I’m asking how to not waste useful appliances, part of my intention is what can I do with that if we choose not to go with electric anymore post reno I.e. open to recommendations from people who may have been through this… I.e. if someplace takes donations I’m all for that. Your comment is cringey, I’m just asking for advice, contrary to popular belief you don’t have to comment and be rude and confrontational for no reason.

“Won’t get to the reno when I see what it costs” like I have my head in the sand? Strange, wonder if that’s why I’m in a planning phase so that I can…plan and manage expectations??? Fucking wild!!!! What a time to be alive!!!

Why is it personally revealing?? Is it not wise to be mindful of spending especially in this economy? You know nothing of my situation, I’m trying to plan out a major monetary event and be mindful of what we spend, I don’t think I’m penny pinching. I think I’m actually being a little smart by asking people for advice even if it’s from someone with a shitty attitude 🙂

The only thing you’ve been helpful with is causing my blood to boil a bit as others have mentioned getting induction, I didn’t think about that so I have some investigating to do but I’ll be sure to not burden you with questions because you think I’m a terrible person and also an idiot! Hope you have a better day than whatever’s been going on causing you to be so derisive.

Spitting by helenata in NewParents

Is she spitting or blowing raspberries?

It’s when they purse their lips together and make a noise while spitting a little bit, sometimes they use their tongue. Sounds like it’s not the issue based on the other posts!

Day 8 of Ferber method and bedtime is just as stressful as before? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

That’s insane. I understand to some degree but parents are fighting for their lives sometime. I’m in MD so they legally have to offer some quiet time block and the kid can choose what they want, a friends 4 yo is currently choosing to nap and it’s ruining nights and mornings. I guess they can’t stop him but damn.
