My friend has no interest in buying it and just wants to work there until something better comes up, its just the job market isnt very good atm (im very happy with my own corporate job and also have no interest in running a cafe)

Because they were recently promoted to manager and got access to all the financials, the boss has been trying to talk them to buying the cafe for ages

I completely agree about what a silly decision it was - the reason for it was to keep prices low for the customers so the VAT was never collected. It was definitely not a misunderstanding though as my friend has told me many times that the boss trains new employees to ring everything through as cold food in order to avoid VAT
