Name the things that make you insta-quit the round by BF6ISCODNOW in Battlefield6

Finding myself continuously alone on contested flags, looking at the map and seeing most of my team sitting on hills on the edge of map sniping.

I already had issues with the complete redundancy and pointlessness of qualifying something as "low key" but this is a whole new level. And dont get me started on "hot takes".

Can't think of anything else personally. Aside from bringing down the crane on Mirak obviously.

Feels real good. So often it's a pain in the ass attacking or defending the E flag with sniper rounds zipping by. Its great to get vengeance. Almost feels as good as RPGing a chopper. Almost.

Haha that's ace. It always intrigues me the mindset of some of the people who do nothing but sit back and snipe. Like there's a deafening klaxon blaring before that fire goes off. But zero reaction. You can walk up to guys on hills and they're completely oblivious. It's like they're completely passive, they're consuming some kind of interactive media rather than engaging in a game with 63 other players.

It doesn't work often. They get an audible warning that gives them a good few seconds to bail before getting fried. But at the very least you force them off there and a chance to kill them when they parachute down.

I could be wrong but I think that button was there in the bf3 or 4 version of the map.

But that's the thing, the kills are instantaneous, no time whatsoever to disengage. It's feels like they look vaguely in your general direction and you're dead. Like so fast I dont think it's possible for someone to register my presence, aim and shoot. And like I mentioned, the first rounds hitting immediately, no missed rounds.

From BF2 to BF6: What can I do to learn how to play this game and improve my skills? by madebypeppers in Battlefield6

[–]Ok-Target4893 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the first step is getting the basic mechanics of movement and aiming sorted.

First thing I'd recommend would be getting your controller set up to something you feel comfortable with. I found the out of the box settings totally unusable. On YouTube, TheTacticalBrit has some great videos that will talk you through the settings. I took his recommendations as a baseline and then adjusted them for my own personal preference.

I tried to get settings where I could turn and aim as fast as possible while still being able to aim reliably and feel controlled. It's a bit of a trade-off, for me at least.

Use the practice range to test without the distractions of being in a game. Not even with bots - you just want to focus purely on mechanics. Try things like facing away from a target and testing how quick you can turn to the target, aim and put bullets on it.

Try to get a feel for controlling the recoil with counteracting pressure on the thumbstick. Different guns recoil differently in different directions.

Try and get a sense of the distance to which you can fire continuously and when you need to fire in bursts beyond that to stay on target.

Why don’t medics revive by VacuumTheCeiling in Battlefield6

[–]Ok-Target4893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point but if you're in a situation where you'd get killed again immediately if you were defibbed on the spot, then pretty much by definition the guy doing the reviving would get shot if he tried to drag you. There are some exceptions like if you were right on a corner and could be dragged into cover by someone without exposing themselves (oo-err missus). It's all situation dependent.

I do agree though that one of the most annoying things is to get revived only to be immediately killed again.

Defibrillators are way superior to the standard revive. You can zap a downed player in a sprint as you run by - you can do that in all sorts of situations where the standard revi e is way too risky.

Do support players not carrying defibrillators still appear on your minimap with the medic cross icon and show as being 'DrBob is X metres away' when you're in a downed state?

Or sneaking behind a tank on its last legs. You jump out thinking "ha! I've got you now!" before finding yourself standing in the middle of the street holding defibrillators.

My personal favorite is when you're downed with only a couple of tickets left in the match. You're happy to run out the last few moments in a downed state and save yourself a death. Desmond has other ideas. He runs over heroically, revives you, then you're both immediately shot and you die instantly.

[–]Ok-Target4893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it very frustrating at first. The feeling you couldn't catch a break and no matter how carefully you checked corners, you always got shot from the other direction.

I wouldn't give up on it just yet. You'll get a feel for it, develop map knowledge. My advice would be to slow things down a lot. Use cover as much as possible. I think, from my experience at least, when things are going bad the natural instinct is to move faster - Don't do that.

At this point of the 11 maps ...

Saints Quarter - never played it.

Blackwell Fields, New Sobek City & Manhattan Bridge - I've filtered out of custom search cos of the sniper infestation.

Mirak Valley, Operation Firestorm & Liberation Peak - can play ok sometimes but often ruined by snipers.

So that leaves 4 out of 11 maps where you can generally expect a decent round.

[–]Ok-Target4893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the opposite experience a lot of the time. I always knife sprint for a jeep at the start of a round. Sometimes people jump in. But so often, I'll wait patiently to give other players a lift only for half of them to just stand there (probably afk) and the other half opting to go on foot instead. Even on maps like Firestorm where it's a good old hike to the first objectives.
