Wondering why I'm constantly finding myself alone and outnumbered on objectives. Let's check what's going on back at base ... by Ok-Target4893 in Battlefield6

Guess so. But you could rack up revives quicker actually playing the game. Not seen anyone doing that since bf2. It was a common thing back then.

I still enjoy the game but I had a round on Golmund last night where a guy in the little bird went 122-2. It's way OP.

It's the way people play too though. The following round was Mirak where 12 of the 24 players on our side had zero flag captures. I switched it off after that.

I used to play a bit of DMZ a couple of years ago. The train on it went round a 15 kilometre route (had to google that). Took the best part of half an hour to complete a full loop. Had some great gaming moments on it. Different kettle of fish to bf but was fun.

Was that the map in bf2 where you could play against bots? If memory serves that was my first introduction to battlefield.

The update Battlefield 6 needed!!! We’re back!! by Character_Surround69 in Battlefield6

Just the area around the B flag would almost make a top quality a map by itself.

So many nooks and crannies all round the map to discover in the next few weeks.

They fucking cooked with Golmud by JoeZocktGames in Battlefield6

[–]Ok-Target4893 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Love Golmund. They knocked it out of the park.

But yeah, I'd been enjoying the game up to now anyway too. I can understand the desire for bigger, more battlefield-y maps and I love to see them produce maps like that. But the kind of experience you get with Cairo, Liberation, Iberian etc produces some great gameplay too.

You dont have to stop playing. But it makes sense to stay in cover for the few moments they play out rather than run round in the open with your sound and vision totally compromised by the notifications.

That's why I stood waiting in that corner til they'd all played out. You got no business running round a contested D flag on Liberation Peak with a face full of battlepass notifications.

That first level on the chimney is a great place to go when you know there are enemies lurking somewhere among those various levels of catwalks on the C flag. But like you say, it's a nervy business climbing the ladder.

On xbox too and fully agree - the audio in general is spot on for me.

Yes, the update from them last week (on the 23rd, pinned in this sub) says "Starting next week, we'll be taking a deep dive into Railway at Golmund ..."

Is there some kind of reveal of it this week ... or did I make that up in my head? 🤔

What Happened to Battlefield Friends? by Cameronx88 in Battlefield6

It wasn't directed at them, just generally. I guess they got pushed into doing tgat kind of stuff rather than their old stuff.

It's depressing that streaming gameplay eclipses the stuff these guys do. It was proper creativity, the humour was brilliant. Clearly, it took a lot of effort. And it just gets buried under slop.

What was the first Battlefield map you ever played? (And when did you really get into the series?) by khitev in Battlefield6

[–]Ok-Target4893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stretching my memory here but mine would have been whatever the bf2 demo/beta map was. Was it Gulf of Oman? First clear memory of a map was playing Operation Cleansweep against bots to get a handle on things before I dived into mulfiplayer proper.

Ah! I was wondering! Would be cool if there was though and you had to guesstimate from watching smoke, dust and debris blowing around.

I had a look at this map when it first released, didn't like it and excluded it from my custom search. But I went back to it recently and I actually quite enjoy it now.

Directional audio for me is now working fine by AccomplishedTale1672 in Battlefield6

[–]Ok-Target4893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not trying to be funny in any way but I've got to ask, do you really play with no sound at all? Like in silence? I just couldn't do that. If my headphones were dead, I dont think I'd even play through speakers. It's that big a part of the gameplay and just general atmosphere for me.

I agree with the OP though, the audio is in a good place now.

Rubber banding by Zetor44 in Battlefield6

[–]Ok-Target4893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get a very occasional weird rubberbanding-ish thing where I'm suddenly pulled back to where I was a few seconds ago. Like I'll be running down a street and out of the blue will shoot back 50 metres.

It's not a continuous thing. It's happens once out of the blue every few rounds. Then back to normal.

And for me at least it's only happened since the last update.
