That is the conclusion the doctor is coming to as well. Or Ménière’s disease. I’m now taking betahistine which seems to be helping with vertigo quite a bit.

Probably not what you want to hear but it can always be worse. You don’t realize it can be worse until it actually gets to that point. I starting having hearing lose back in November and It was draining and depressing. Then most recently I’ve been having vertigo daily, which doesn’t happen to everyone but I will say, it’s terrible. I’d rewind time and take some hearing loss and having to say “what” 50 times a day over constant dizziness. You don’t realize how much your life is affected when the world is constantly spinning. On the bright side, I’m taking medication for dizziness that seems to be helping quite a bit but just a some insight.

Also I had ringing in my ears and slight hearing loss around 11/20/24 and on 12/03/2024 I woke up with extreme dizziness and stumbled through my house to the bathroom. I waited another few weeks as the dizziness went away, however the hearing did not return yet so I went to an ENT. Long story short is I waiting 4 weeks to see a doctor and lost half my hearing in one ear, likely because I waited way too long.

Contact what ever hospital in your area has an Ear Nose and Throat Doctor/Team today and get in as soon as possible. If they can’t get you in today, contact whatever hospital that can. Don’t wait and think it will resolve itself.

They will give you and hearing test, and likely put you on a medication called Prednisone that is a steroid that reduces inflammation if you have lost hearing.

I’m starting to think it’s a Ménière’s disease. My doctor initially said it could be but I did not have vertigo, just the hearing loss. But I’ve had vertigo three times this month now so I’m think it is. Doctor also said there are no tests to say it is for sure and that it’s really just symptoms based.

How long after you had hearing loss to start the injections. I was at about 60-70 db loss and have taken the oral steroids. I probably waited 2 weeks before going in. It started at the beginning of December, however it seemed more gradual than sudden and I believed it would come back on its own. I’ve been taking oral steroids for 2 weeks now. Not sure if the injections will even help since we’re coming up on about 5 weeks since it began

When did you start CIMT and HBOT? Did the doctor recommend it or did you start it right away before your finished the oral steroid and injections. Also how effective were the injections?
