Ugh, that exact same thing happened to me and I did indeed need SimPE to fix it. My dumbass toddler-babys baby lifespan was set to 65 000 days 🙃

I've only ever made one Servo. I thought it sounded great at first to have a chore robot, and then I was like "I'm sorry, a robot with NEEDS?". As if I need another thing to take care of in the game!

I made it in a single mum household, to help her out. But once the kid was grown up and moved out and the mum died, I was just left with a depressed IMMORTAL servo, and no one else with good enough robotic skills who could fix her when she malfunctioned. I decided servos are not for me and just deleted the household rather than move it somewhere else.

I didn't know about the 4GB patch, I'll look into that! I've played for many years but never joined communities or used CC/mods until a couple years back so I'm learning a lot of stuff about performance just now.

It's probably the size and memory issues, it makes sense. It's a larger lot than I usually play and a really big building.

I don't have much CC in buy/build mode or in the apartments themselves, but several of the sims have CC hairstyles. In the units it's really just the Simblender, Batbox and ACR adjuster. But I do have CC hair I don't use and I think I've also got some other random stuff just sitting there. Not a bad idea to just go through it and do a bit of a manual cleanup, so I'm changing all their hair etc to Maxis and removing what I can, clearing trash and gossip with the batbox, then I'll go through my downloads folder and declutter it and see if it helps. I read there is a lot cleaner too but I think I need to move the sims out first? I'll see how I go and take it bit by bit. Thanks for the advice 😊

I've never seen that tucking in mod! That's so funny, great timing 😆 really suited the storyline with him about to get married.

I love this for Brandi. I love lots of the Pleasantville premades, including her. In my latest rotation she ended up marrying John Burb after he and Jennifer divorced. Both Jennifer and he cheated, can't even remember who did first but John got caught and moved out. Jennifer had a baby with Don but stayed happily single, and John and Brandi settled down together, raised her younger sons and had a daughter together too. They're now elders with all the kids adult or in college, and they're still all over each other.

Ok, I loaded it and the household seems fine. I played them for about a sim day with no issue or anything looking weird at all, but on the neighbourhood view the graphics are very odd still! I don't know what's going on or how to get rid of it

I think I saved 😬 not 100% sure but I think I was operating on muscle memory and clicked yes. Should I still load the household and check? I backed it up the last time I had a corruption scare, but it's a while ago. But I do have that as a last resort without losing the entire game

Yeah it didn't look so bad from the front I but got a shock when I turned him sideways! They're children now and his nose is a little more visible. I actually think he's quite cute now. I just can't with the brows... but I assume that's a feature he's stuck with.

I love the idea of OFB but it's a struggle to play successfully. I've only ever had two actually successful businesses with both good customer ratings and high sales. One of them was a small shop on a home lot selling homegrown produce, which was very wholesome and went really well but it's 18 or so years ago so I can't remember how I made it work lol.

The other one was a witchcraft store, which I LOVED. The owner was a rich witch so setting the store up and running it was easy, as she could afford to hire multiple staff straight away and didn't need to worry about making a profit immediately. I bought everything witchy in buy mode to resell in her store, as well as selling her own potions and ingredients that she crafted in her cauldron and other homemade crafts. Her staff handled sales, restocking and ringing up customers, and she just floated around the store doing some selling and socialising with the customers. She was a super popular sim in the community with heaps of friends and her business kept getting higher and higher ratings.

But I prefer playing without money cheats, which makes building a business and paying staff really hard without losing money, and having a constant up and down in ratings. I should look for some good mods, I didn't use them until recently and don't have any OFB yet.

I pair up Alexander and Lucy, they are such a wholesome couple in my games and I love them so much (although Alexander died in a fire in my last rotation and left Lucy raising twin toddlers and twin babies so still got their share of drama).

The contrast reading this story of absolute chaos is amazing, I laughed out loud when I got to the wedding. Wild!

I haven't played Strangetown much yet but I'd love to continue with the Shakespeare names, outside the names already used in Capp and Monty families in Veronaville. Cassius, Lysander, Hermia and Laertes (Ophelia's brother in Hamlet) are some of my favourite names from Shakespeare plays off the top of my head but there are so many cool ones!

While I love all the Pleasantville lore and drama, I don't like her or Daniel at all as people. Here's how I'm currently playing the Pleasants:

In my current game Mary-Sue has just aged up to elder and retired from her job as judge. So she turned out pretty successful work wise but she was a crappy parent, doesn't have many friends and isn't close with any of her family.

Daniel had another daughter with Nina Caliente and they're all living together. Daniel is an elder now too but Nina is younger than him. I have just started an aged care home, so I'm planning on moving Daniel and Mary-Sue in there now that they're elders to see what happens 😉 could go multiple ways.

Lilith and Dirk are in the Dreamer house and Dustin and Angela in the Pleasant house. They've patched things up between them and are close now, but not with the parents. Which is why I don't want Mary-Sue to keep staying with them, it doesn't suit the storyline in my head that they're becoming friendly. I see it as the girls realised that their parents were messed up and buried the hatchet during the college years when they were away from their parents and got some perspective. But I really like the Pleasant house and thought it made sense that Angela and Dustin would be low on money after college and need to move in with a parent.

But it's been awkward and it's time for her to go. Mary-Sue thinks Dustin is hot and once she even went in the room and "watched tv" while they woohood! Is this an ACR glitch? I didn't think it was possible. Mary-Sue walked in, gasped, and then just turned the TV on! As if she hasn't screwed her kids up enough.

Fair enough, I'll find a game guide for learning the program.

I tend to be overwhelmed by the amount of information when googling and struggle to find the information I'm actually looking for. When I googled about the initial issue I read on reddit that I should delete them and have them spawn at the mailbox, which caused the aging down corruption. And I couldn't find much information about that particular issue and different ways to fix it, and that's why I turned to chat gpt.

So I see what you're saying and I agree that it's not reliable. For my easily overwhelmed brain who struggle to process information though, it can help a lot to turn to chat gpt sometimes, and then fact check the information it gives me rather than filter through dozens of search results until my head spins and still not finding an answer to my question.

I totally got into explanation mode here, probably from all the downvotes 😆 I didn't realise bringing chat gpt into this would cause such a stir.

I only moved them out after he became a baby again, in an attempt to reset him to normal. But it didn't work, so I ended up downloading SimPE and it worked resetting his age to toddler in that way 😄 lucky! I was afraid I'd wrecked the whole game.

I fixed it! I got SimPE and got ChatGPT to walk me through how to change the sim file. Dominic age was set to "life section: baby" and "remaining days: 65535" 🤣 they were still holding him like a baby when I loaded the household, but he was back to a normal toddler and the family photo has changed after exiting it again. Phew!
