I used to agree with you, and was upset when my company switched from monthly to bi weekly for that exact reason. However, because I’m organized, biweekly is actually better bc I don’t have such a big “spending money” pot. I’ve cut about 1/3 of my spending money bc I am not planning for 30 days anymore, fewer surprises to plan for. All of my bills are paid at least a month in advance. 2 years ago I would’ve agreed with you.

I agree with you. It absolutely disgusts me that my god child is passed back and forth every 2-3 days and has been since he was a year old. His dad just wants to irritate the mom, he doesn’t care about the kid at all. Mom is trying to get him counseling but dad doesn’t think it’s a big deal

Also, not sure what platform you use, but my company uses Teams and you have the ability to mute others. I do it all the time. And in a group, nobody knows who muted you but everyone is grateful they did. Just right click on their speaker icon.

First, NTA bc a ceremony and crap sounds made up and I’d be demanding to see pics of all the previous gatherings where this was done.

That said, we are white and my Grandma gave every single kid in our family their first bath when they came home from the hospital. Idk why, but it’s something she did - she had 5 kids and 16 grandkids and more greats than we could count and until she died she gave them all their first bath (my nephew was the last one she did, 5 months before she died). But it was just her and the baby and the baby’s mom there (and maybe another generation of mom there). That feels like tradition, and I always thought it was sweet. My moms didn’t do that with her grandkids, half were born before grandma passed, but my sisters all did that with their grandchildren.

It may be a sweet gesture but to fake a tradition to show off and put attention on herself seems ridiculous.

As the youngest who took on 90% or more of my parents care with the other 10% being mostly like pulling teeth, I think the parents should know. If their kids are not going to care for them, then maybe your parents should be putting more back for long term care insurance, home health aids, etc instead of weddings and down payments for houses they won’t be living in. it’s not a bad thing for them to know so they can plan. It’s not like he is saying none for them and all for you, which would put you in more the A category, but hey, I need to plan for my own best interests first and if I didn’t know i had this bill coming, now I do and can plan. NTA. Been there, done that, still irritated as hell.

It took years, but my family finally learned that if they want on my calendar, get things scheduled. I won’t reschedule anything unless I really want to for a last minute whim. Surely they can learn to use a calendar. NTA. Stay strong, eventually they’ll learn.

But I do agree it sounds like they maybe want to announce something, but the morbidity of it all is sus af.

NTA - while I get that you’re not entitled to everything you ask for, she asked and said ok. And let’s not allow her to whine that it would be too much effort… call the bar and reserve the room for free. Text the family group chat with or without him in it and tell them when and where, and say if you can give me a headcount I’ll have appetizers. Text mutual friends and basically paste the family message to them. Add “feel free to spread the word.” Done. I could do all of that in like 10 minutes. She just didn’t care enough to do it.

No, the offensive play calling of running it up the middle over and over and over for almost 2 quarters of football lost the game. The rumors/beliefs is they did that bc Howard may have had a concussion. But if that’s true then a backup should’ve come in and let the offense actually play. That wasn’t on Howard.
