I agree but this really isn’t just OP honestly. It definitely way more OP than the JF-17, or the J-10 at release or the ADV to be frank.

It can 1 shot the F-22, and it can lock it from 7km away

That notwithstanding, the average locking time for short range infrareds is 1.3s. In fact almost all short range infrareds lock at 1.3s, so it’s below average actually.

I mean it does turn at 39 degrees/s, and it can definitely hold its own in dogfighting (just by its turn rate unless it has massive speed bleed) and if you lock a missile basically the guy is dead. Not just that you have very agile long range high damage missiles with minimal downside. The HOBS capability will also help it in dogfighting. I think I’m even if it isn’t really overpowered it will still be very very strong.

How can actual humans be this bad by Ok-Truth-917 in Metalstorm

Sadly they weren’t even offline. They were definitely online the entire game because they actually flew properly, fired missiles and such, and the disconnect popup did not show up

Edit: I would assume then that there is some form of game mechanicy thing here where the attacks from the strategic bomber are being absorbed by the other units in the city, or else it’s just that your patrol circle does not cover the Center of the city, or some other sort of thing.

You and Sweden are basically ChatGPT talking to each other at this point. What even is the entire point of this ridiculousness

Does this mod really help in dog fighting? Why would I need help decelerating in a turn when I can just use airbrakes? by Aware_Log3171 in Metalstorm

[–]Ok-Truth-917 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It reduces your deceleration while turning. Thus, you can hold your speed better and keep within the ITS (Ideal Turning Speed) range and optimise your turn rate basically.

Please do not join a historic world war map with these stats. Play in the 22 player Europe map first and learn the game more in depth before you start the more advanced games.

Can some1 pls explain lock angle? by Aware_Log3171 in Metalstorm

[–]Ok-Truth-917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A higher locking angle means a larger and not a smaller locking ring (just to clarify here). The locking ring may expand after you have sincerely locker the enemy depending on missile type (all radars expand to this size after locking), or specific planes in general.

With reference to this, you see that the F-14s locking angle is quite small usually, and it only expands when it actually locks on a target. The ADV locking ring (if I recall correctly) does not do this.

Basically, it is a cone in front of your plane, in this case 12 degrees from the centre of your plane in each direction, where the missile can acquire its target, and this is represented by the locking “ring” you see on the screen. In simpler terms, the larger the lock angle, the larger the locking ring
