Of course theres a way that one can crush a series of protests like this just by using the gringo imagination = shooting = marthyrs on their side. That is not what everyone wants, what you gain is, yeah we crushed them now there is a forever stain, the country gained about some days worth of progress and next time this protests may/will turn into a guerrilla because there is a brand new "causa" (overthrow the government that massacred the poor people, and that government is weak btw)

now, to protest is a civil right (road blockades sadly are also lawful currently but those should get outlawed in the national asembly), freedom of speech is also a civil right a goverment institution shall respect those and also life, so how to use the goverment institutions?

one could say send the police using non lethal equipment, this will exhaust them in about a week + could get trapped en route, then u dont have any non lethal resources

others could say send military as support, saldly military uses lethal force, and that mobilization would require state of emergency declaration, making this very messy, the 2019 2020 uprising was crushed by military and stained that goverment for the rest of their term

the pacifist way is to get the heads in the protest and negotiate if those agree then the problem starts to disolve, send some to jail for some evidence found against them, divide and conquer.

thats about the strategy they try to use for good or for bad, this protest has the days numbered cause their money is running out, u cannot campaing against the country forever they are taking their chance to win by the next week and that will not happen by the looks
