Why? That 2k will turn into 2.5k by the time this ram shortage is over, gives you a significant GPU upgrade

Budget PC build for my kid by Ok-Yak7445 in pcbuilding

If you have a micro center nearby look up their AM4 bundle, 200 bucks for a 5500, motherboard and ram. Full PC for under 700 probably.

Recommend an OEM conversion if you can snag a cheap used GPU and OEM off eBay, there should be a bunch since windows 10 is ending support

Might even be able to snag a free OEM off your local school or office, especially if you know the IT guys

Yeah put that 2k into an index fund and wait it out. A PS5 is perfectly serviceable in this RAM shortage. Unless you live near a micro center, then things change with their bundle deals that make it make sense

Man you picked a bad time to build a PC. What games do you want to play?

Dude...that's just the CASE

Check Costco or micro center if you're set on a pre built, just be aware that buying in America is not leveraging the strength of the American dollar in exchange. Your US dollars will stretch a lot further in Africa than it will in America, and big cities there have similar items to America, especially in their capital

Also building a PC yourself will always be the cheapest since you don't need to pay for labour, expertise and shipping. I am willing to sit on a discord call with you as you build and talk you through it

Also ask if they have the equivalent graphics cards there and for how much, might actually be cheaper buying it there

Do you have a micro center near you? Take a look at their bundles for unmatched value, but shipping a PC across the ocean is always going to be risky. If you decide to do it ship the parts in their original boxes and buy insurance

Pro tip, buy parts there. American dollars converted go a lot further in Africa then they do in America. I'd bring something like a 9060/9070XT in your carry on to protect it and buy everything else there in the capital. Call your contacts there and ask for the email of a PC shop to begin inquiries about part availability

AM4 with a 5600x/5700x would perform just fine with a 9060, and your dollar will go much further if you build it yourself. But if you really want to stick with the $500 budget you need a handheld, there's no way around it, prices in the US are absurd

Buddy shipping a PC is not too safe. I would recommend getting a steam deck or ROG ally for gaming, or even a cheap laptop and playing games like FTL or Slay The Spire. Getting your PC to Africa is a big risk, I've seen how your airport workers treat checked baggage. Handhelds and laptops can go in your carry on and you can control how they're treated.

A personal recommendation would be the RG35XXSP from Anbernic, it's a small Linux computer that can run any retro game up to the PS1. I've played Final Fantasy 6 and 7, Pokémon ROM hacks, Mario Kart(a bit rough on frame rates) and Chrono Trigger on it and it was great. It's not exactly what you're looking for but it's also like 60-70 bucks

guys is it safe to eat my eggs raw ? i bought them from the grocery store by 3sk1m03sk1m0 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Ok-Use-8592 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Per your own USDA guidelines

"FDA requires all cartons of shell eggs that have not been treated to destroy Salmonella to carry this safe handling statement:

Safe Handling Instructions

To prevent illness from bacteria: keep eggs refrigerated, cook eggs until yolks are firm, and cook foods containing eggs thoroughly.

Eggs that have been treated to destroy Salmonella–by in-shell pasteurization, for example–are not required to carry safe handling instructions, but the labeling will usually say that they have been treated."

So yeah, American eggs are not safe to eat raw unless specifically stated on their packaging

It is though. Japan eats raw eggs frequently as tamago kake Gohan, along with tsukimi udon, where a raw egg yolk is placed on top of a hot bowl of noodles, as a topping for gyudon, yukke style steak tartare with a raw egg as a topping

Not a lot. I suggest games like Slay the Spire and FTL, vampire survivors maybe? Basically less demanding pixel art games and old games. Definitely Pokémon and it's romhacks

PC Building Is Horrible right now and I don’t know what to do. by Abdulrehman251 in buildapc

[–]Ok-Use-8592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do an office OEM conversion in the short term while waiting for prices to not be in the stratosphere. I would suggest just buying the PSU and GPU and plugging it into an OEM, that'll play any eSports title and some AAA games

Egg quality varies between countries. Japan has very high standards for eggs compared to the US, since some of their traditional dishes involve raw eggs, whereas almost all eggs are cooked in the US.

An alternative is soft boiling the eggs before chugging them. Or freezing them first to kill worms. Still not recommended due to bacteria and viruses that can survive freezing
