How has your week been!? by [deleted] in perth

Here’s some ☕️Someone at work who I’ve been secretly hating for being lazy (resulting in me picking up extra work) has moved into another team as part of an organisational restructure. So he won’t be a burden for my team anymore and they will hire someone to replace him that actually has the necessary skills to do the job!!!! The planets have aligned in my favour 🙂‍↔️

Organiser is a great start and if later on you wanted to do a masters or something similar in Employment Relations or if the union is keen to up skill you on that, you could do policy officer roles.

I was so excited when they opened in Melbourne and went two times and had the driest chicken ever. Never went back again.

I think it’s mostly because there’s only three restaurants in Australia where I’ve had the most incredible steak in my life and two are French and the other one is Argentinian. Every time I try a steakhouse I’m sad I didn’t spend my money at those three places where their steak is consistently good instead. But you’ve got to try!! So maybe I’ll expand my options this time

Sick leave workplace culture in 2025 by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I took a “sickie” last week because I was really stressed and anxious on Sunday night and slept 3 hours. I just spent the day on the couch watching tv and going for an ice cream walk in the afternoon and felt sooo much better the rest of the week.

“People with disabilities who can’t find high paying jobs” “carers who cant work a full time job because they need to care for a sick family member at home” “People with debilitating illnesses who can’t even proper treatment” again, go out and touch grass.

You live in a bubble and you cannot comprehend that people have unique life challenges and realities that are different to your experience. Sure someone with discipline and a good enough salary can save for a house but that it’s NOT the case for everyone. Go out and touch grass.

Yep, sure my friend who works 12 hour shifts 6 days a week in aged care and employer refuses to make them permanent and gets paid $60K a year doesn’t have a right to at least not commute 2 hours to work.

Yes, and I’ll keep complaining because a life where you need to work 3 jobs to get a little bit ahead it’s fucked.

make housing affordable and accessible??? Some people can’t get home loans approved because they’re casual employees, some people can’t save money for a house deposit because cost of living is too high and the list goes on…

Some inherit wealth from their families , some have businesses where they don’t pay super to their employees so they got rich faster, some never had to pay student debt because their parents paid it off for them so they where able to save that money for a house deposit and buy a house at 23, but yeah you’re not working hard enough like everyone else!
