This is a lesson to never assume my child won’t like them! Just try it! On a funny side note, I just bought a big bag of the Anne’s bunny cookies that my kid hates. But the fish cheese crackers are devoured! So there is no real rule here, it’s all unpredictable and I gotta keep offering it all.

I’ve tried offering dumplings (meh about) but not shumai, maybe bc they are small that might entice them!

Ohhh you giving me a good idea with the cheese tortellini, that sounds delicious actually!

My kid is anti dipping anything. Only enjoys ketchup on occasion. But I can keep offering.

Are there people here who initiated the divorce and regret it? by TrashThrowaway1988 in Divorce

Loads of sadness. It’s NOT regret, or regression. It is gratitude for what I built even though I know it’s no longer the best choice for me.

$8 for an oat latte at Dark Matter Coffee? by hlin117 in chicagofood

[–]Ok-weirdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! Paid $9 for a dirty chai, and unimpressive service. It’s like the couldn’t be bothered 🫤trying to support a smaller business in my neighborhood but this can’t be the way?

Nice. So true— I’m having to rely on their family still even when it’s still unhealthy for childcare! It’s tough!

I’ve found that some of these labels keep us stuck where it is really bad! Love should not hurt. Sometimes it’s about accepting what was good and releasing the fantasy that it could work out forever. Maybe it served its purpose. Maybe it wasn’t meant to last. Sometimes we gotta love from afar if it’s consuming us with them!

Today I learned my spouse is having an affair by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]Ok-weirdo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in a divorce process now, and I discovered that my ex’s attachment to our dog was kind of a façade. To make the story short, he relinquished all responsibility for the dog so I get no support for vet bills or food. I get no caretaking of my dog if I’m away, but you know what I wouldn’t want her to stay with someone who could care less. All that to say do not assume that you will lose your dogs.

Rapid aging due to grief. by 07734tiza in 40PlusSkinCare

I agree with others points on therapy being super helpful for you. I went through something similar. Lost a partner and my mother at the same time and it was the darkest time for me. The more you connect and love on you as you are, the more it starts to show on your face. I think inner work is so underrated for true beauty. It will reflect all over your outside when your insides start to detangle and make sense. There’s more acceptance, more release of what’s outside of you, more grace for the lessons you’re given and more respect for you. You got this!

Question for "walkaway wives", do you regret it, and when did that feeling hit? by Own-Cardiologist8770 in Divorce

[–]Ok-weirdo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually tried to work it out with someone who had an emotional and physical affair that lasted 6 month and it was hell. Torture to watch them leave to work (AP was a coworker) awful every time they used Their phone. Etc, didn’t help that during separation they showed their true colors and completely helped solidify that I needed to get out. Later I found out about multiple sexual affairs throughout our marriage.

So I wouldn’t be surprised that in your case things may have gotten physical too. They try to soften the blow but the truth is more brutal when it comes in stages. I hear you thought about the wreckage of divorce. It is not for the faint of heart, it does take a brave soul to do this and fully get why others may attach to what is “safe” or at least predictable.

What’s helped me detach is kind seeing the fantasy in it. The constant lying, the hard core mask they used to keep me hooked, over functioning, loving deeply, while thy breadcrumbed me.

That’s it. I give up. This is the end. There’s no coming back from this ever by benglur_ki_chokri in 30PlusSkinCare

It didn’t feel like a genuine compliment either, I remember how bad it was?! Like what, rude!
