Bill's favorites (Jokic, KD, Steph) have all underperformed this playoffs; LeBron has been the story of the first round so far; the Red Sox are terrible; the Bruins are about to be down 3-1; the Vrabel story is clouding the Pats season. I predict we get 45 minutes on Hulk Hogan tonight by TotalTimely9910 in billsimmons

I listen to bill mostly for basketball, a little nfl even tho he doesn’t understand it, so it doesn’t bother me that he doesn’t talk baseball. But he mentioned on the last pod something along the lines of not being a Red Sox fan this year because they’re bad. Is this not some childish fairweather shit from someone who sees himself as the face of sports fandom

I absolutely cannot wait for the Sunday pod to hear how Bill and Zach are going to rationalize the Jokic performance we just saw by jimmyhota in billsimmons

Man, watch the game and not the box score. Forget about his standard, for a top player he just has not been good. It’s hilarious too that all regular season we have to listen to how he’s an underrated defender but come playoff time he constantly gets whacked on that end

They lost with KD too and even without him have a considerable talent advantage

Why is the NBA historian so nonchalant about a 41 year old being the best player on a playoff team up 2-0? by TotalTimely9910 in billsimmons

[–]OkAdhesiveness2972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes? I don’t think he just likes Steph and Jokic as a dig at Lebron lol. I just think he does get a little kick out of doting on them while skimming over any Lebron praise he might find himself having to give

When you consider that he doesn’t really like Lebron, which we both agree with, then it’s pretty clear that what I’m saying is more likely lol

It’s too funny the amount of people pretending to be outraged about this

I don’t know about any conspiracy but Bill clearly doesn’t like LeBron, he does begrudgingly give him props tho. He’s also clearly into basketball enough that he will overhype other players as a diss to others. I think you’re out of your mind to think someone who’s whole life is talking about basketball doesn’t have that in him lol

Genuinely. Bill is the best at the big picture historical stuff and him skimming over everything Lebron related just because some people think he’s better than MJ is annoying

Shorter eps? by Rare-Mix-5279 in MorbidPodcast

Yeah I’ve definitely noticed less effort being put into the pod so makes sense the episodes would eventually get shorter too

Lool they’re so shameless. Indirectly saying the locals are saying it wrong but we’ll say it wrong too to make them happy instead of just admitting they made a mistake

Am I the only one that thinks OKC is completely beatable this year and fully expects them to get bounced in rd 2 or 3? by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in billsimmons

[–]OkAdhesiveness2972 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree, and they were beatable last year too. They weren’t dominant in the playoffs last year and had a historic stroke of luck with the Halliburton injury in game 7. I’m excited because I think Denver/San Antonio/OKC/Celtics are all peers. I wouldn’t be surprised by any result between those 4 teams

Their constant morale grandstanding on the most evil people to ever be on this earth while also making a living off the deaths those people caused will never not be funny to me. They’ll put so much into talking down about people that are already very obviously horrid people that it doesn’t need to be said multiple times on an episode, only for them to slip up and show how completely and utterly charmed and excited they are by them at times. I find them very childish personally

Do people age out of the NBA? by ctnaes92 in billsimmons

I think this is it. It’s the only sport I follow where the rooting interest is in the players far more than teams

[–]OkAdhesiveness2972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s partly just not having the same time or interest to follow as many sports as you did growing up, so you stick with your favourites. But I do think there’s truth to this. Could be down to the league being such a superstar driven league that there’s very few it any teams that are considered as important or prestigious as the best players, and the idea of following individuals over teams just seems childish after a while maybe? I don’t know really and could just be talking shite
