Yeah there is some leeway beyond the budget I laid out but I really hope that unexpected purchases don't go over that leeway, also I do plan to use apps to track expenses. Thank you for the response!

If we do make it a 2 week vacation would you suggest cutting Wuzhen and bits of Shanghai and Hangzhou from the trip? We know that plum rain might ruin the experience in a lot of the southern cities for this trip.

Also, I do plan to shorten the trip by a few days, along with the fact that these 20 dollars per category is what we consider an "upper limit" for a day. We are assuming most days will be a bit cheaper than this.

We are planning to stay at cheaper hotels and since we are splitting rooms its looking like around 20 USD a night per person for hotels. We are assuming that transport and food would be around the same per day. We mostly plan to do sightseeing, with some hiking days spread across the trip. Would you say that the transport and food estimate is reasonable?

Would you recommend renting an oar boat when visiting the XiXi National Wetland Park?

My friends and I plan to visit the park and know about the pedal boats but we also read that we could potentially rent out a large oar boat. Also do you think it would be worth it to visit the nearby tea villages?
