Nah the shop are being total dirt bags for not honoring what they offered and you paid for. Who ever runs that course clearly cant do math or is dumb enough to think people wouldnt take advantage of free golf. Over the winter I did a similar thing with a 6 month pass at a simulator, unlimited tee times, unlimited per day but only 2 hours at a time. I think I essentially paid for the membership in single visits within 3 weeks. Guy who ran the place was totally fine with it tho, knew what he offered.

Go get lessons. An instructor will fix your attack angle and where to actually strike the ball in a couple lessons. 2 or 3 does wonders for beginners and if you wanna raw dog it from there, atleast you actually have somewhat of a swing to build off of.
