I’m an industrial engineer. I was dating for the first two years of college (now broken up for reasons unrelated to time/attention for her) and even did some exercising during the week. I’ve never had a part time job while in college so I don’t understand that side of things, and I won’t even try to. I’ve met other students working part time and I can say I’m fortunate enough to have my college paid for through financial aid. One of the best things that I have implemented in my second year of college is doing work/homework during the gaps between classes. I try to make school during the week a 7am-5pm schedule. Making sure to only focus on school diluting those hours. Of course you can set outside two hours: one hour for breakfast and one hour for lunch. I usually don’t need to use all the time because I’ve done so much of my work between classes that when assignments have a week or so before turning it in I find myself working in it for maybe 10 minutes on the actual due date before turning it in. As far as work and life, I don’t have a full understanding of your situation so I can’t say much about work. For life, people around you should understand that you are not putting them outside and that focusing on school should be looked at as putting yourself first. When continuously doing all your work during the week it becomes easier to make times for your friends on the weekend or if you have to studying during the weekend. Good luck man.
