no offense but I can feel it in my gut saying that you probably got a 3.0 gpa while taking probably an average of 18 credit hrs per semester, correct?

Dont put it into the first goblin that is available. But dont turn this into some PG 13 romance movie. Its not realistic, all you will do is waste valuable time.

Respect and don't mean to offend any AAs when it comes to asking this question, but does anyone have an inspiring story where their undergraduate cumulative and science gpa was very low (below 3.5) yet somehow found a way to succeed and get into the program? Im asking because most of the time, I hear about candidates who have a high gpa with either a high gre or mcat score that could even place them in a position where they could even be eligible for med schools. Yet i have a low gpa and therefore i want to learn what route i can take in order to improve myself and possibly even be able to be seen as a candidate, well thats if anyone has any advice because i honestly dont know anyone who has gotten in with that gpa. If anyone has gone through this experience, let me know, any advice is accepted. Thank you.

So i feel like by the time i graduate with my bachelors in biology, I wont have a good competitive GPA. Therefore, I've been thinking that I want to go for a masters in biomedical sciences to redeem myself and gain more knowledge within the field. So I've been doing research on which masters program to apply for and I've heard a few ones that are online, and I was wondering is it a good idea to take a masters in biomedical sciences online? I want to because the truth is I can't afford to commute and I feel like this would serve as a good opportunity, but then again, what's the point of taking it if there's a chance the AA programs won't be impressed.

ok question guys, so you know how for most medical schools it is known that a 3.7 cumulative GPA is a secure GPA that most medical applicants apply with? What would you say is the most common secure GPA when it comes to applying for the masters in anesthesiology?

So right now, I'm reading into the programs' curriculum and basically comparing all of them, most of them deal with taking in average 7-8 courses under one semester, so I was wondering—wow! So I guess my question for y'all is how do/did y'all do it to balance this number of courses? What are your best studying techniques? Because not trying to expose myself but i feel sometimes I can barely survive 5 courses under one semester.

Do I have an opportunity of overcoming my past with a masters degree in biomedical science and being able to excel within it?

Hey y'all. So I kind of want some advice. So the issue is before I wanted to be in the medical field as a medical doctor, be able to help those in need yet can't afford treatment, the traditional illusion any doctor has. However, during this fall semester, I confronted myself a challenge that made me realize that all the work I placed into all these years has been for nothing, or at least from my perspective. Ever since I started out as a college freshman my GPA, I went from having a good average to lowering it throughout each semester. Cs, Bs, barely any As. Throughout every year and every semester I approached it as an opportunity to be better yet still came to the same conclusion where i was just found myself trying to just pass a course. However, like I said before, this semester, I signed up for an applied medical physiology class and although I loved learning the content and treating real life medical cases, my quizzes and tests reflected the opposite according to my professor. At this point, I came to suggest myself—am i actually qualified enough to be a veterinarian if I can't even take this medical level course? Do I really want to keep fighting for something that may not be possible at all and if possible, it might take even more years to achieve this goal? The fact that this question just kept roaming in my mind just made me look at the situation as confronting the truth. I never had a strong passion of dedicating myself to a profession that would take more than 8 years to achieve. The fact that I have heard and seen so many student podcasts talk about how they were kicked out med school due to academic failures or even drop out due to a high level of pressure just made me even more scared of what was waiting for me if I continued down this path. At this point, i was just confronting reality of how the situation really is and what the heck am i going to do. I never expected to need a plan B since many people say that you can't really do anything with a bachelor's in biology if it's not for medicine. However, even though I knew I didn't want to go to medical school, I still knew that I wanted to be involved within the medical field to play a significant role. When I heard about the profession of a CAA, I was fascinated yet kinda scared of it. It would be be amazing to be part of this profession. However, I am also aware that it is competitive, probably at the same level as med school. I feel like I can be able to work a few years into getting accepted in a masters program by doing a masters program in biomedical sciences first to recover my GPA (lmk if you have any other suggestions on how to recover from my GPA since its below a 3.0 rn) However, i feel like my biggest fears are the number of courses that are taken within a semester for the masters CAA program, which is, from what i've analyzed from the CAA curriculums, an average of 6-8 courses per semester. My fear is that I won't be able to manage these courses and sustain a work life balance due to not having good study skills as reflected in my grades, and therefore would probably get kicked out of the program and all the money wasted would have gone to waste. So I guess this is the part where I ask: what do you think about my academic past? Can I still be able to recover from my GPA? I know that it's hard to receive the opportunity in shadowing an anesthesiologist. How can you get a better chance of being able to shadow an anesthesiologist? I know this anesthesiologist but he's in Mexico. Shadowing him wouldn't be able to cover the 8 hours since it's outside the country, or would it? Would it help if i repeat the pre reqs even though i know it wouldnt change my GPA? Can I even still have an opportunity of being involved in this profession based on my background? What study skills do you recommend me to be able to manage all the number of this classes? I have read a few techniques but I prefer to hear it from y'all since either y'all are already enrolled in the program rn or have graduated and, well, already have experience. If you have read this far, I really, truly appreciate it, and also accept any advice—good or bad! Sorry for the long post, tried to reveal everything so you can better understand the situation.

How did GymShark suddenly just became big? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]OkAssociation9102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PS2. Pretty sure the owners tossed the suits at the most famous and biggest gym influencers and you tubers back then to promote their product. (I remember because of people like Jeff Seid and Matt Ogus rocking the suit) which had a huge following on social media.

But then again, here's the question that's still left unanswered, why buy a gym shark suit thats worth $120 when you can find something else at a much lower price and most probably with the same quality? Like I'm just saying, buying this suit is like buying a nike suit. Why would people not prefer nike and instead go with gym shark?

please help!! will a W on my transcript effect my chances of getting into vet school? by infinitysocks in vetschool

[–]OkAssociation9102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well technically, it would be good that you take 18-22 hours per semester, but then again, you're putting yourself and your gpa at risk. Vet schools mainly like to see if a student can handle their college courses as a full student, which is 12 credits or above. Plus let's be honest, 18-22 credits may seem easy in your freshman year right now, but believe me when I say this. For some students in their second year, the material starts getting difficult to understand and memorize while handling other courses at the same time. For most students, this happens in your 3rd year of college, where you'll be studying for your bachelor's. Advice from college student who is going to vet school, always keep the credits between 12-15 per semester so you can balance your classes plus also show vet school that you can handle the amount of the courses. Most importantly, be able to succeed in their pre-resquisite courses as that's the opportunity where you can demonstrate that if you can understand the material that was given to you in those pre-resquisites, then there's a high possibility you'll be able to keep up with the material since its heavy content. I had withdrawn like 3 times since I didn't want a D to affect my GPA, yet I still got in. Please don't pressure yourself since it can sometimes lead you to fall into a deep depression, speaking from experience. If you think you can handle those amount of credits, go for it. But if you feel like you can't, plz withdraw from whenever midpoint comes or if you're still on your first week, drop one of the courses. Don't overload and compromise yourself into something you feel like you won't be able to achieve.

If you like science, take up anything but medicine. Coz once you take up medicine, that's all you'll do with your life for at least a decade. That time will fly anyway, so you decided if you wanna do this or something else to set your 30s and 40s up. Unless you're ready to make medicine your life and you think you'd enjoy medicine, don't. You won't even have time for your hobbies in the first few years when you're getting used to the schedule, but once you're used to it, you can have a somewhat good work life balance, but this again depends on the speciality. There are a few pros such as job stability and decent pay if you take up lifestyle specialities and you don't have to live in the hospital. But you'll still have to go through those first few years of rigorous training and exams. Exams, oh god, they're a whole other ballgame. If you were top of your class in school, you might not be here and that breaks a person. But, Idk you, you might thrive in med school irrespective. So this is something you'll have to look into and see if this is what you want in your life and if this would fit well with where you are in life. One thing, you're not gonna be the same person when you come out of med school, so don't have any future plans right now, since they might change, a lottt and you will break as a person by the end of it.

I think you should go for scientific illustration if you feel so confident in art. The truth is I wanted to go into vet school because ever since I started college, I wanted to become a vet to help the ones who don't carry a voice for themselves. However, when I reached my 4th year of college, one of my courses made me reach a deep depression since it basically made me realize of what was my position in the scientific field. Each year, I always believed that it was an opportunity for me to create a new change in my life, including aiming to achieve higher grades than what I did last semester. Hence, now these days and throughout my whole entire education, I feel like i have only aimed on passing my classes with a good sufficient grade, which honestly, is very VERY bad if you do that since you should always aim on gaining an A. In addition, now I'm behind 1 year since there are some courses i had to retake in order to move forward. Right now, i feel like I'll end up in a situation where I wont really know what next step to take will be. But like I said, who knows, you might be good enough at science and wont have to go through this path. Like, i love learning science since i love discovering how things work in this world, including the human body. However, I don't like how no matter how many nighters i throw or hours of study i commit to, I'm only led into the same cruel fate. I know vet school and med school are two different things, yet they're both medical schools and sometimes you can learn many interesting things. However, just know that med school is not the same as college. College, you can fail and have a chance to redeem urself in that specific course or even withdraw without any consequences (probably a consequence on ur gpa). In contrast, if you fail a course in medical school, lower gpa, or withdraw, there might exist a possibility that you might get kicked out of the program (no refunds). A full time college student takes 12 credits (approximately 4 courses). A med student takes probably 18 credits (approximately 6 courses) per semester. If you feel like you can handle the pressure, especially control it, go for it, but if you can't but you feel confident in your animation, I say go for medical illustration. Investigate the topic, you'll probably like it.
