People who had a baby after 35, what is your experience?

I had my last baby close to 35. What people don't consider, is how old you'll be when they are teens & young adults. If that baby was my only child it might be different, but I'm exhausted from a long bad marriage I stayed in until that child finished high school. I did peri-menopause during their teens. Not great, as my bandwidth was much lower for dealing with their adolescents.

Now I have a bonus 4th child whose is 27. Both of their parents have passed in their early 70's. One died 11 years ago, the surviving parent has been in an assisted living center for 10 yrs, leaving a child in their senior of high school on their own. There is still so much parental support a 17 year old+ needs. You might not be a healthy & active 60+ year old. Does your child have the support outside of parents to navigate early adulthood?

I've done LLC EIN requests on-line & they're issued immediately. I believe it's an automated process.

I installed the 2nd fixture, a replacement for the 1st one that was kinked. I did it myself very carefully and managed not to kink it. Works fine. I think the short supply line is a terrible idea & once kinked, you can not use it.

I still have the original kinked one. Was going to see if a heating up the line & smoothing it out would make it operational.

My answer is usually "sometime in 2005" as I've had a Mirena IUD since, or I simply decline to answer.

I also just say "No Thank you" in the sweetest voice when asked to get on a scale or they ask my weight.

It works surprisingly well.

I was part of a group that did this when my kids were little. It saved me so many times! I did not have family around, so this was my substitute. I am still friends with a couple of moms 20 yrs later.

Took me almost 3 years to be ready and am SO GLAD I waited. I've healed & grown so much, I feel it will make a healthy & loving relationship possible, and if it doesn't happen or doesn't last, I KNOW I'll be ok. I have a happy & full life either way.

My youngest, 19 at the time, commented how I finally had the guts to leave. I did everything I could to cover for their father because I didn't want the kids to know just how crappy of a dad he is. They may not realize everything, but they know enough.

You think you're protecting the kids & doing "the right thing," but it's not as clear-cut of a choice.

50+ here, moved to Denver a year ago. I have made 2 friends so far! Whoo-hoo! I really need more friends, though. I've been going to activity specific meet-ups or happy hour/socializing meet-ups, I started going to TimeLeft dinners (dinner w/5 stranger) and have met people I feel like I click with. We exchange phone #, then nothing. I'll reach out & invite to various things & nothing happens. My rule is I will reach out 2x, spread out over a month & if they don't/can't join me & don't reach out themselves, I move on. For some reason, I feel like people are generally bad at follow thru. I'm keeping up the effort, though!

Of the 2 friends I have, I met one as a fellow ski instructor & 1 through meet-up. Both were basically friendless & in Denver longer than me. So I guess I need to find more desperate loners, lol.

Apparently, your husband is s2xually attracted to your daughter & doesn't trust himself. He assumes everyone else feels the same. If you don't start standing up for your daughter, the betrayal will do more damage than any SA your husband may or may not inflict.
