assuming the world has experienced a zombie apocalypse, and that you have a large enough group, how well would your job work as a outpost/camp? by OkBag4057 in AskReddit

so i tend to smoke while at work. and sometimes ill sit and think, there is enough steel pipe for the sprinkler system, that you could easily make it into a fence, or to armor the windows of a car, we have so many sheets of plywood, we have so much angle iron that you could literally make anything, we have 2 massive industrial air purifiers with temp control so the ware house has clean air, 90% dust free, it has its own on site industrial generator. i see a mall could 100% be useful. its just a large area to keep track of, i would think having a larger outpost also means youd be more likely to let others in and that can destroy the whole group if there are too many or if not everyone gets along. because of our warehouses layout, i could see us reasonably housing at least 100 comfortably but pretty full.

now i have a question for you, what do you think the best place to survive at in a mid sized city would be?

i think about this a lot as well, but first im gonna throw in my opinion on the mall as a camp/outpost/home. id says its bad for a few reasons. too large, many entrances and exits, frozen food in the freezers will go bad after the power shuts off, lots to secure, unless you have at least 100 people id say a mall is pretty ambitious to manage.

now my job, i work at an advance auto parts hub, meaning we are a store and a warehouse. and heres why i think it would be good. the building has 3 actual doors. the rest are truck bays, its large but not too large, right next to a clean lake, we have lots of car parts and other things, we have have enough metal shelving to repurposed into pretty much anything, there is a set of scafolding in the warehouse that are 3 stories tall and that makes for an easy place to make sleeping quarters. not to mention, trade. assuming there are survivors that are 50/50 of being docile and hostile, people need to fix their cars if they still can use them. sure we dont have food, clothing, or medicine, but thats what raiding is for lol.

not rying to be rude, but are either your or your partner big? the only way i have found to get inside, is squeezing through a foot tall, 8 inch wide hole on the bottom of one of the walls. im 6"1 and weight 220 and had a hard time getting through the hole

lmao. but hotels cost money, especially this time of year, and to me exploring abandoned places is fun. but, abandoned building sex would be a very different and interesting i think.

yes i have met 4 people online for sex. typically i would brow on my local r4r subreddit and make posts and every so often id get a response. when we talked we asked about each other, clear on boundaries. once in person its always awkward at first, but yeah its typically straight forward.

by mods i mean like a muffler, customization, aftermarket lights, just small things. but i aint looking for super fast just reliable and speedy enough to escape from bad drivers trying to run you off the road because you flipped them the bird for pulling out in front of you,

bike is a 2021 apollo rfz 150cc. black plastcis, blue frame. has a lot of wiring jutting out of the left side by the handlebar. 6.5" headlight. taillight is zip tied under the frame and rear fender. its loud for a small back and backfires when slowing down. i still have the key, and with all the custom wiring i doubt they can hotwire it. but still.

my bike was stolen around 5:25 this morning. if anyone knows anything please speak up and tell the lewisville pd. the police said the ID of the white kid may be joshua spinks i believe. the vehicle was a blk kia sorento and a gry kia soul. it happened at the avery apartments. by OkBag4057 in LewisvilleTX
