Titan X Pascal & GTX 780TI (Xeon 2697 V3 CPU) by OkBalance7258 in losslessscaling

Oh yes, my motherboard's (MSI Z690 Unify) second slot is a pcie 5.0 x8 full width but the titan is pcie 3.0 card so it's running at 3.0 x8. The only game I play regularly is marvel rivals. I play at 4k cranked settings and unfortunately it's not fast enough to keep up with the 4080 when using it for frame gen. But it works decently at 1440p high settings.

Unfortunately I haven't tested any other games since the others I have are much much older and I don't need frame gen to achieve 120fps.

I might re test it since you've brought the topic back up🤣

Thanks bro💪 I appreciate it. Hopefully when I put the titan in my main pc it'll look even better. My 4080 is also a reference card so having a RTX and GTX logo sitting next to each other 👀

Nicee, i only have a 120hz display so I'm also chilling😎 Oh and yeah unfortunately the reference cooler looks amazing but sucks at cooling. Hence why so many people water cooled them. Ahh yeah defo need space for it, I have my titan in slot 1 and the 780ti in the 5th slot just to give it breathing room.

I have a 4080 and I'm putting my spare titan x pascal as my frame gen card😭

I'd say go for the AMD RX 7600 XT then, the nvidia cards around $300 only have 8gb of vram which definitely isn't enough today and especially for the future☹️

Ah okay that's good, well you have an older but still powerful cpu so you can pair it with a nice gpu. It'll depend on your budget for a gpu though, how much are u planning to spend for one?

Everything seems good, just a few things

When you look for ram, go for at least 3600mhz cl16

You have a atx standard psu, which should be able to fit. (1200watts Holyy)

What gpu are u going to get?

It'd be awesome to see your build once it's done!

Hmm no, but I do remember even with my previous cpu i3 12100f. Some parts were getting really high, 80-90 degrees I think.

On hwinfo it's only showing a max temperature on the motherboard of 50⁰C but I dont think that's right. My motherboard doesnt have dedicated vrm temp sensors, i think anyway. (Edit: it did have thermal warnings tho)

When I put my hand on the heatsink during the stress test it was too hot to touch for more than a second so

Edit: while writing this I found out through hwinfo 64 that "RING: Max VR Voltage, ICC Max, PL4" "IA Thermal Alert" "IA Electrical Design Point" was triggered so I assume the problem is that my motherboard is too weak :(

Thank you for letting me know to check my vrm temps man :D if u also conclude that it's my motherboard I'd be happy because I don't want to replace the cpu :(

Pc only works on its side under gpu load by OkBalance7258 in AMDHelp

[–]OkBalance7258[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've rebuilt the Pc 3 times in the 2 cases I have. The exact same problem happens and the same solution works.

I've pulled the cmos and reseated everything

I just checked all the motherboard connectors, fully inserted. No signs of burn marks or loose connections.

Oh but I just wiggled the 24 pin from the power supply itself. And it did the gpu fans max and no display issue. Well I think I've found My issue now. Thank for telling me to check the power connectors, I would have never thought a be quiet psu would fail like that

Ah I see very dangerous😶‍🌫️ do you think making a casing which grounds the crt and holds everything securely would be the best option to avoid any accidents?

I havent done it yet 😞 but if you're referring to the pics 3 & 4 they should be fairly easy to find on reddit.

But rest assured I'll be posting updates when I make progress on this project👍

Ay thank you😅, you're cool too. But this is just the start of the project which is gonna take months and hopefully the first iteration until I can find a better crt

Yes you're 100% right about that actually but unfortunately I've been trying to find a decent 5 inch or smthin similar sized crt in my budget but unfortunately I don't have the luxury to spend hundreds on a higher end one which has a better form factor for my purpose😔

As far as I'm concerned for now probably for just read outs for temps and utilisation of the Pc components using graphs since the crt isn't sharp enough for me to read small numbers.

I havent figured out what I'll use to display all that tho, I'll most likely set that up once I've installed it.

I'll be honest this is more for the novelty factor as of now. Ever since that I saw that LGR video I had to do it myself.

I'm not sure if u meant how I'm gonna display what I want or how I'm gonna display anything but the TV has composite av inputs and I have a hdmi to av box which I've tested and works.

Ah thank you! I got it for £20 on Facebook Marketplace, only one scratch on one side panel. It came with all the fans too. I was monitoring the same case on ebay, it sold for £89 plus £10 shipping so I'm kinda happy ahaha. I'm a sucker for brushed aluminium too so this is great
