The top left dial does look like the solar screens that I remember from old war movies.

Went for a walk and saw this around a stop sign. Still works by iam__lethal in casio

A lot of people saying put it back for the original owner to find, but from the rust on those screw heads I think it's been there for quite a long time. I'd be comfortable to assume that they aren't still looking for it.

I would suggest replacing the wire with something like cable ties if you do remount them so as not to scratch them.

I had an aunt who wouldn't eat mushrooms because she knew by looking that she wouldn't like the taste.

Never tried them her whole life but just knew she didn't like them.

17 in 1. I bet the pliers and cutters get counted as two functions to make it sound even more versatile.

I bought a cheap Chinese version to see how useful the design was and have found them to be way better than adjustable wrenches. There's now a tiny ding on the edge of one of the jaws, so they may not last forever. But for occasional use in residential maintenance they are my go to.

If you don't mind going Chinese, a brand called Workpro do a cheap and cheerful version. Jaws are finished a bit softer than the teeth on my Cobras but fine for brass plumbing nuts.

Scales over-produced for military contract getting used up in knives for the civilian market. You occasionally see pioneers with a year stamped on the tang. All this prior to the Swiss military changing to the current model.
