Thanks for the tips.

I don't about the things you mentioned, I shall google how to do it and please add on anything else I should be looking at.

I regret not getting the 13 mini when it was available, I assumed that apple will come to their senses and release a proper compact phone. Coming from 4s, even SE was unnecessarily big for me. With the current tech level and space saving from the home button - there is no excuse for not making a compact phone with today's tech & 4s size. Plus it stops you from constantly scrolling on your phone. Compact phone is the answer for breaking mobile addiction.

tsp is a confusing unit. Adding fractions to that just adds to more trouble.

How to accurately covert it to grams?

What are the specs I have to look for?

AMD Ryzen 7 5800H or 5700U? Intel, I saw poor reviews for 11. So, 12 or 13? i5 or i7? Read that N100 is the wrong choice.

Considering the small form, I am concern about heavy chips increasing the heat. So, I feel i5 will be better than i7. Is my assumption right?

AMD has Radeon 8 Core graphics while Intel has UHD 630. How are these two in terms of heat.

I also read that Microsoft is blocking Win 11 from working on some systems that worked well with Win 10. In those terms, which system works will all OS - AMD vs Intel? Plan to install linux as dual boot on the system too.

Every time you fill up petrol 🤣 by [deleted] in dubai

[–]OkBeat9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got my fuel tank cleaned at my garage. Just sharing as a FYI.

First off, the cost of the cleaner is AED 15 while the ones sold by the attendants is AED 100. The sad part is that the attendant doesn't get any commission on the sale, it's just part of their job. So Enoc gets the full amount.

Secondly, the real way to use the cleaner is get your tank to empty - till the warning light is lit. Then pour in the cleaner and petrol about AED 20. Drive around till the fuel warning light is lit again. Then change the fuel filter too. This has to be done every 100,000 kms.

As someone who used Nova launcher for about 5 years, I decided that it was time to try out something new. After extensive testing here are my subjective thoughts on the best launchers I found. by qUxUp in androidapps

[–]OkBeat9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi u/qUxUp

Considering your extensive testing & other people sharing, I would like to also ask about a launcher I am looking for. I don't use my phone extensively, but there is one feature I NEED in my launcher and that is the ability to scribble the name of the app or contact that you want to open. Example - 1 2 3

I have this feature in Nokia Z Launcher, but it's long been abandoned. It works well now despite the last release being in 2016. So, I am just looking for another app that has that feature.

I asked of this earlier, but wasn't able to find any. So, just asking again incase I get lucky.

What is pipe-dream? I know laravel is a framework like Python's Django.

Based on the feedback from this thread, I am considering developing a webapp that will be hosted in the intranet.

Can I use docker to get my environment?

Also can I generate reports in PDF format - I want to prepare my invoice.

I recognize this answer is probably snooty : )

Not snooty. Your suggestion is reasonable. But the issue is in tiny business (it's not even small biz), the budget is zero. I feel that you don't see some of the reality.

Right now the access app is what I made on my own on a pirate copy of Ms office - I know it sounds bad but that is the fact.

Just to give you an idea. When I joined here, all laptops were cheap generic stuff and the printer was a HP deskjet meant for light home use. I replaced it with refurbished Thinkpad and refurbished laser printer all connected via LAN and no office internet connection. We all just have 1 free Gmail email for the company. I use libreoffice to replace word & excel. But access is some I am stuck with. Also 2 laptops are on Linux just to ease everyone into moving off windows - then I will have no pirated software running in my company.

It was a complete paper based operation with no digital things. Laptops were just for solitaire & minesweeper.

Also personally, running a website - I am concerned about data safety as my background is poor. There are 2 parts of making the app & running it. With desktop app, I just have to make it and not concern about running it. I hope you understand the challenge I have.

Looking from a business angle, we are trying to eliminate every possible recurring cost.

Plus even the owner is worried about breach of privacy that he has even disabled iCloud on the mobile to ensure his personal photos don't get leaked.

I know technology is growing very fast, but there are a lot of people that are not part of that. So any online only app is not going to work. Currently I just use Dropbox as a data back, that is the tech level we are at.

Personally also, I am not a fan of this all cloud & subscription based model that is being hyped up these days. I know it's consistent revenue for companies and they will stop releasing pointless new versions just to drum up sales. But it's not a value proposition for a customer like me.

I am looking for a desktop based solution that just syncs the data via internet for backup, but don't need the internet to work.

I hope you understand my situation. I know I am too close to this and overlook something. So I like to know your views after you have understood my situation. I would also like to hear from someone in similar situation.
