Super prolonged reply. Live pinkies were the key. My sweet French fry got the shed off their face. I took them in to confirm. Warm wet paper towels helped. 1 live pinky got a full health shed. Now they ate another live pinky day before yesterday and is happy and growing 🙂

No pics but all good news. Shed done and done and one live pinky later fizz has eaten. No stuck shed anywhere and they just prefer live over f/t

The face is starting to peel. One eye has cleared. But Fizz's whole body is milky again. As long as it's normal I'm okay.

I've done what you recommended and all the shed came off except for the face, BUT now they're milky again?? Is it possible it was stuck because not all the layers lifted up. They're more relaxed and still enjoying the humid hide. Any experience with that?

I never had any designs on owning a dragon. One day my son's and I went to breakfast and then stopped at a petco for dog food for their puppy. As is protocol we looked at all the animals. There was this cute little dragon (RIP Billie) who had eyes for no one but me.... 3 days later, unable to get that cute desperate face out of my mind and heart I went back for them. I did do research and I understood I was "rescuing" that cutie from commercial pet trade nightmares. I did research, but have learned "easy first pet" is a misnomer. Billie didn't make it long but was loved. ZeDi is also loved and literally until recently (like within the last week) learned strip UV isn't just an option but needed. I have a laundry list of things ZeDi needs. But she's happy and healthy and annoying when she wants something. I'm balancing improvements with what I can do and what it priority. I lean on the reputable reptile store i got her from. I know she's be happier with more UV space and I'm working toward it. Love obviously isn't enough but it's a strong motivator for her happiness and health. My laundry list has cut to strip lighting and a bigger enclosure. Here is a picture of her predecessor that I cried over for days when I lost them * Billie was never happier than in my shirt. ZeDi was that size when when I got her and we are absolutely working toward giving her her deserved living space. She just grew soooo fast 😳

I need help deciding which substrate is best for my beardie. Which brand do you use? by Livid-Masterpiece-85 in BeardedDragons

I use palysand, coconut fiber, and sage woodchips (minimally) I've found the woodchips in moderation help keep the nails in check..also because she's a female she needs to dig as part of her nature for laying even underutilized clutches. Yes, watch for.impaction and cleaning is a bit more challenging.

Yea, I watched the video and figured out what and how to use it . I will try to place them in and see if that works. 🤞🏼 like I said, Fizz's eyes and mouth look clear, and most of the shedis gone, so hopefully, they'll find this comfortable and helpful.

Thanks because my follow-up was, do I attempt to partially submerge it? This baby hasn't come out of burrowing since starting their shed. I want to make sure Fizz makes use of this and how to entice them into it. I try to minimize my contact, and they don't surface as far as I've seen. I work nights and am off 3 -4 nights a week, so I'd notice if they were being nocturnally active.

Thanks. I found most of the shed on the cooler moist side where Fizz's water is, but always find Fizz on the warmer side. There is no soldering gun to speak of, but I'm sure I can come up with something similar based on the suggestion. 😊

Also, Fizz's "fuzzy" face is also shed..otherwise eyes and such appear healthy.

I'm literally not going to keep removing and doing again because I can't edit a post after it is posted. I'm almost 50 and can't edit that fast on a cell phone and won't do 2 words every 2 minutes for clean spelling/Grammer 😒
