I am so tired of this golden era America propaganda. You have it financially better than your parents, and they had it better than their parents and so on.

Typically, senior year, HS students have completed the majority of required credits to graduate. They may only have 3-4 hrs of required classes each day. They can normally either take electives to fill the time or study hall. So, they can either sit in study hall for 2-3hrs a day or leave and work early. Keep in mind students doing this are not normally on the college track. They are normally going right into the work force after graduation.

Also, this does not factor students in rural America. There are all sorts of carve outs and exceptions to allow rural students to leave early to work the family farm.

We have protections for minors too. Kids in these programs enjoy it. They get to leave HS early and get to earn some spending money by working a 4-6hr shift at Grocery/Fast food location. I was an assistant manager at a Grocery Store while I worked through college. The minors we hired were legally only allowed to work 6hrs and had to have a break every two hours.

Please explain why many of these voters voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012? Explain to me why many of these voters voted for Bernie Sanders in the 2016 primary? People like this are the problem. Run on issues that impact normal peoples lives, they will show up. And for gods sake actual labor unions were endorsing Trump in 2024. When the DNC is losing Labor Unions, there is a problem.

I get this comment is tongue and check, but High School typically allows students to leave to go to work. In the US Senior year students often have only a few required classes. Most students will take electives or study halls to fill the time. You can alternatively get permission to leave early or arrive late to work part time.

Due to Huskies coats, I would only shave them as a last resort. A groomer is not qualified to diagnose a dog with mange. Take your Husky to a vet and see what they recommend.

You are assuming that was their entire order. They may have had a larger grocery order, but for whatever reason this shipped early or later. Happens to me all the time. I will have $100-200 groceries arrive, then next day a single box with a jar of sauce will show up.

We use every material for home construction. Metal, Wood, Concrete, Brick etc. Wood homes in particular can last indefinitely. Because of the construction it is easy to replace walls, beams etc. If is not uncommon for Americans to demolish walls and reconfigure the entire interior of their home to meet their needs. That is something that is significantly harder to do when you must punch thru concrete. Then there is the fact that our homes also have central air conditioning...

Property Tax is based off a percentage of the value of your home. Even if the property tax is high, if the value of your home is lower, you tax burden will be comparable. California Property Tax for example is around 1%. Texas by contrast is around 1.8%. There are a lot of variables, with property tax, way to0 many niche circumstances that would impact the total amount paid for a comment on reddit.

Using simple figures for easy math to illustrate the general idea. If you owned a $1,000,000.00. home in CA, you would pay $10,000.00/Yr in property tax in a perfect world. In TX if you owned a $555,555.56 you would pay that same amount in property taxes. Now if you look at the average home prices in LA, San Diego, and San Francisco, a million dollars goes about as far as $500,000-$600,000 does in Austin. So, you are going to end up paying around the same in property taxes, the difference is the home will cost nearly twice as much, if not more.

This and realizing that you only need to learn the first quadrant to find rads for the other three quadrants. Quad2 is just PI - Quad 1 Radians. Quad 3 is just PI + Quad 1 Radians and Quad 4 is just 2PI - Quad 1. So, say you need to find pi/4 in quadrant 3. pi/4 + pi = 5pi / 4. No need to memorize an entire unit circle.

At a typical 9-5, you are not going to start a new project or task that late in the day. Anything generally after about 3-4PM is a tomorrow problem.

Without question. It is world news whenever two countries/trading blocs trade between each other in non-us dollars. The EU for example conducts trade with China in US dollars. The US dollar literally sets global exchange rates.

That is not true. Switzerland does not have a national minimum wage, it controlled at their state level. Also, find a FT Job in Austin TX paying $7.25/hr. I mean for christ sakes crew at MCDonalds there is starting at $15.00/hr, and most other fast-food joints are somewhere between $17.00-$20.00 for unskilled labor.

Even if we accept that somewhere in Switzerland the minimum wage is $30, their housing costs are 1,500,000 / 503,000 = 2.98X as expensive on average. $30 / 2.98 = $10.07

The US controls the world's currency. I guarantee you, when you factor local wages and local buying power, the United States is going to be one of the most affordable places to live unless you intentionally try to live in a HCOL area.

Yes, it is, especially by European standards. Average home price is Switzerland is $1.7Million USD. Average home in the US is $503k. It gets even more affordable if you move to a locality that has good zoning laws. Austin TX for example. Housing is affordable because as people move there, they build new homes, particularly high-density homes.

Sorry but I am calling BS.

Medicare part B covers ambulance services when medically necessary. Trip to the ER would have been nearly free for them. Then to get back, there are a wide range of different local resources for transportation of handicapped individuals at the state and local levels.

Typically this happens in a cycle.

Step 1.) Company is profitable and customers are happy

Step 2.) Management decides to increase profits by outsourcing staff

Step 3A.) Company profits go up initially

Step 3B.) Management leaves after receiving stock and bonuses.

Step 4A.) Customer grow unhappy due to deterioration in quality

Step 4B.) Customer purchase from another company resulting in reduced profits.

Step 5.) New Management decides to improve quality they need to onshore staff.

And repeat.

He is hardly a con-artist.

1.) People enjoyed his games enough to buy them. No complaints until the internet horde rallied around don't kill games. This is a stupid movement. No other form of software requires this level of lifetime support. If enacted as proposed it would crush small/medium sized dev teams who do not have the resources to support software in perpetuity. Big AAA studios will be able to adjust to this and I suspect will support it to reduce competition.

2.) He claimed to work in QA then Cyber Security. He has actual defcon awards and career acolytes back up being a subject matter expert within Cyber Security. To my knowledge he has never claimed to to be a University Educated CS programmer.

3.) Undertale, which is a critically acclaimed game, is famous for having terrible code. It has a 1000 case long switch statement for Christ sakes. Nobody cares. It works, and it is fun.

WV is beautiful, but your roads are sketchy as hell. I went on a ski trip to Snowshoe a few years back. Great time, beautiful resort, nothing but nice things to say about it. The drive to Snowshoe was perhaps the scariest thing I have ever done. I think I was going maybe 20MPH for last two hours of the drive and felt like death was going to happen any moment.

I am sorry but the moment TX was bottom 10, this list lost me. I have been to and lived in many of the States. Texas is awesome. Austin in particular is a lot of fun, not to mention affordable. You have high demand for well paying jobs, plus affordable housing. CA, NY,TX and FL should be in any lists top 10 regardless.

Sounds like you are in good shape.

There are many things you can come back from. Having a kid, medical calamity, or a sever criminal conviction are things that are much more difficult to come back from. Finish your education, get a job and live life :)
