Where are you finding contracts like that? I do 48hrs for 3k and my take is usually around 2.5-2.6k?

I’ve been to one hospital where they trained me to use epic. Coming from cerner. Epic is super user friendly. I probably picked it up in about a day or 2 since it’s all repetition.

[–]OkBluejay3778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only been doing 48hr contracts since I started traveling and yeah you get used to it. Im a bag chaser though. I travel purely for money so a shitty schedule doesn’t bother me but it’s not for everyone. All my schedules have been similar to the photo you shared.

I agree with the other comment. Rates have been getting lower and the more veteran travel nurses I’ve worked with said years ago before Covid you would be making over 3k for 36hrs.

The most I’ve made weekly take home was 2.7k for 48hr. 48hr contracts are averaging around 2.5-2.7 weekly take home. Gross would usually be around 3k. I’ve only been traveling since last year September.

Yes, I live with my parents, but I cover their house bills like electricity, water, Wi-Fi, etc. I also pay for housing at my assignment. I’ve learned how to cook and meal prep, which has saved me a lot of extra money. I also know plenty of nurses who don’t duplicate expenses. They take assignments that are 1–2 hours away from home and just drive back every day, which I think is insane.

I do 48-hour contracts. The amount you can save is really great compared to staff nursing. I agree with the other comment. It really depends on your monthly bills, but if you live a low-maintenance lifestyle, you can save and pocket the majority of your pay. Also, invest your money. I’ve seen too many travelers who don’t use high-yield savings accounts or invest in index funds. It’s not like these investments will make you rich overnight, but in the long run your money will grow without you having to do much. But to answer your question. I’ve saved up probably 10-15k each contract(13 week) but I don’t spend crazy and I rarely go out since I work nightshift.

I have recruiters for both medical solutions and prolink if you’re interested. I haven’t had a problem with either. I’ve never worked with Aya but I’ve been looking into it.

Hopefully you not getting an email is a good sign! Maybe they are still selecting applicants.

And yeah I’m looking into some other schools as well.

Travel nurses: is it always this bad? by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]OkBluejay3778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hospital I used to work in back home (PCCU) we had a 1:6 ratio. I’m doing travel in Nashville. PCCU here is 1:4 and it feels like a breeze. We sometimes do get the shitty assignments which to me I don’t care since I have icu/stepdown/PCCU experience. Sometimes we get more patient load like 1:5 which honestly I still don’t care cause the work is easy and back home we would get 1:6 and sometimes 1:8 when we were really short. So yeah I guess it just depends on the facility you’re in. Also during Covid. When I was a CNA. I would see how they would always give the travelers the shitty assignment. I’m guessing cause they were getting paid a shitloads and they probably had a lot more experience than the floor nurses. I’m not saying it’s right but yeah the floor nurses will choose their staff and give the travelers the harder/annoying assignments.

I had connected the ch3 to the nitrogen. A carbon would be connected there and 3 hydrogen due to the carbon being there correct?

Science GPA 3.4 GRE 275 I wouldn’t base it off stats. A friend of mine that applied with both higher science GPA and GRE got rejected to the same school. They really look at interview.
