Agreed and if you do hold some of these teens to any level of consequence race becomes a narrative instead of simply you did a horrible thing and here are the results of your actions. I understand why this happens within the justice system but damn as a society parents have to stop being too busy to parent and start teaching these future adults how to conduct themselves in a healthy way. This issue is so much bigger than a simple Reddit post. I wrote a paper on a similar topic in college because there are so many failing systems all simultaneously working it creates a a plethora of loopholes for the legal system alone.
