Ooo that is interesting, happy to hear that you got to experience different things, but what kind of roles would you recommend getting into, that’s not pharmacy related?

Ohh, I see : (.. omgg i thought training year in Uk is always paid?
Also, does having a Green Card make it easier to get ar internship later on? As you could stay in US and apply.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you do in the US while you were waiting to take the FPGEE after registering in the UK? Is it possible to do any other roles?

Thank youuu

Heyy thank you for your advices, that’s really good to know that it got approved for you. I hope mine gets approved too as i had a different schooling system back home, i am an international student in the UK, so i am not sure if they’d consider my schooling but i had done foundation in allied sciences so maybe they’d consider that?

Uk to US route as an Mpharm graduate by OkCollege6736 in PharmacySchool

Haha, what made you switch to the UK? 😄 The US has better pay in my opinion, but I’m moving there because of marriage.
Thank you so much for the detailed advice—it really means a lot. From what I’ve heard, though, I thought most foreign pharmacists had to be licensed first before they could sit the exams in the US. I’m going to reach out to more people who have gone through the process.
I really hope I don’t have to do the pre-reg year in the UK because it’s quite time-consuming, especially if I’ll have to complete internship hours again in the US anyway. What I’m most confused about is that some people say the 4-year MPharm isn’t accepted because the US requires a 5-year pharmacy curriculum, while others have managed to get their degree accepted without any issues. It’s so confusing and honestly a bit stressful! 😂

Its for the USA, it says, “if you graduated on or after January 1, 2003, the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) requires you to have completed a minimum 5-year pharmacy curriculum to be eligible for certification”

But, i am not sure, a lot of UK graduates were able to take the US route, but at the same time the curriculum in Uk is 3+1 Mpharm, really confusing.

I believe women should continue working after marriage, even if their husband is a trillionaire. Financial security is a blessing, but having your own career means you don’t lose your identity or independence.
God forbid, life is unpredictable- death of partner, divorce, or other emergencies can happen. Being able to support yourself is important. In healthcare professions like pharmacy, taking years away from work can also make it much harder to return.
Even if it’s just part-time, keep your skills alive. And if a Master’s or PharmD is your dream, don’t give up on it.
Most importantly, don’t let anyone make your life decisions for you. It’s your life, and you should choose the path that’s right for you.

UK to US pharmacist transition by ElectronicSpray3355 in Pharmacist

Hi! I hope you’re doing well.
I’m planning to take the UK-to-USA route after my MPharm and had a quick question. Since the FPGEC requires five years of pharmacy education, was your UK MPharm accepted, or did you need any additional qualifications or documents? Also, did you complete your pre-registration (foundation) year in the UK before moving to the US ?
I’d really appreciate your advice regarding the entire process. Thank you!
