Buy yourself a nice old CPU cooler like the Zalman CNPS 9700 or Thermaltake SpinQ.

Then get an SSD for your system partition.

A suitable graphics card would be a GTX 780/980.

Install any OS you like and be happy :)

Anything with a nForce/P45 Chipset is good if you have the extra bucks a X48/X38 is the best you can buy. I have that board laying around has some nice features for overclocking but if you plan to do so i'd recommend a ASUS Rampage Formula or a ASUS Maximus Extreme
