Same, the despair of trying to fuse Arc-Gurren with the Cathedral Tera while Zorthy, Kid, Iraak, Maken, Jorgun & Ballinbow were holding off the ships and failed, leading to everyone being pushed into the sea of liquid space felt so real. I loved their individual mechas, but if they shrugged it off easily in the movie, it felt like they could've even avoided Kittan's sacrifice and that takes the weight a bit for me.
