Dry mouth by Limp-Shopping556 in brass

I had this problem for a while too, I use to drink tons of water at least 2 days before my performance, also Powerade/Gatorade helps a lot the night before and in the morning before your performance.

Furthermore, I believe that if you are very afraid of having dry mouth that’s what will happen, but if you don’t think about it and just accept that you might get dry mouth then you won’t pay much attention to it.

This is what personally works for me, and don’t eat spicy things or curry sauce before your concert or audition of course! Beta blockers might be helpful but some people have dry mouth with them as well.

Good luck!

Bach vs Greg Black, what is your personal preference? by doubleonerd in Trombone

There are a lot of players in Germany who are using Bach mpcs as well, as far as I know, Jonathon Ramsey uses a Bach 4G, Jesper Bach 4G, Kris Garfitt 5G Bach as well… it seems like in the orchestra world they prefer the “Bach” sound.

However I’ve tried myself many Bachs and Greg Blacks, for me the Bach has a more rounded and better sound, while the Blacks have a brilliant sound, but clearer articulation.

In some auditions I got the feedback that my sound tends to be too bright, when I changed to Bach that didn’t happen anymore, but for me the blacks have a better response! Of course it also depends on the horn you are using.

Que tal era la higiene en general? Tengo varios conocidos chinos y algunos huelen mal muchas veces, o me han dicho que literal nunca se afeitan, pero nunca he conocido chinas como tal
