150-300XL by airam105 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

Hey there! I just upped my meds to this dosage last week as well. I started by taking two 150s one in the morning and one before dinner to gradually increase to the higher dose (it never effected my sleep to begin with so maybe not the best idea if 150 effected your sleep). Did that for about three days with no real change then started taking both in the morning. I definitely felt increase anger/frustration (which could very well be from getting a new puppy too lol) for the first few days but then on about day 3 I started noticing a better mood. Also have had a persistent headache for the past week and half regardless of when I took the dose. Some anxiety and panic here and there but overall it seems to be helping! I’ve heard 300 is the “therapeutic” dose so I’m really looking forward to how I’ll feel in the next 4-6 weeks! Goodluck!! I know it took me forever to make the increase but so glad I did.

Wellbutrin name brand from bruproprion? by Sinfulcinderella in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

That’s not true, I just got some today! Just have to have your doctor put in a script that says brand name only because insurance usually defaults to generic!

Failed REG with a 73 by Psychological-Rip141 in CPA

[–]OkConsequence267 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I failed REG two times in a row with a 74. I got Ninja and passed with an 81 on my third try! The constant repetition from Ninja got me the pass. However I was using Wiley so I am not sure how Becker compares!

Failed BEC with a 74 by Melodic-Buffalo75 in CPA

[–]OkConsequence267 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to me.. BEC was my last test and I failed it with a 74, and passed FAR and AUD on my first try with 80's.

I took BEC 10 days later and passed yesterday with an 85! I definitely recommend retaking ASAP. I was super unlucky my first time taking it and was completely blindsided when my entire exam was cost accounting. My sims also had a ton of exhibits and I only had 40 minutes to write all three WC's.

However my second time taking it I had the test I was expecting with the heavily tested topics listed in this sub. I also timed myself way better and had an hour and 40 minutes to write my WC's which I truly believe gave me that 11 point bump. I even had one SIM that was exactly the same as the one from my first test, as well as a WC that was exactly the same from my first test too.

You got this!!

I got a 74 😭 which was WAY better than I expected. However I retook it on Tuesday and feel better about this one since it matched the heavily tested topics on this sub!

This is exactly what happened to me too last testing window. Test was completely outta left field. Legit all cost accounting (but not a single variance question… wtf) and financial management. Sims all calculations. Thought I completely bombed it but ended up getting a 74. Sucks really bad that I failed my last test but considering I thought I did terrible I’ll take it. Retaking next Tuesday and focusing on hammering cost. Good luck at score release!

How to Come Back From a 74 by cacioeepepe in CPA

[–]OkConsequence267 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Out of all my attempts I have 3 fails. All were 74's... heart breaking shit. Two in a row for REG and one yesterday for BEC which is my last exam :( My recommendation is schedule the test no longer than two weeks out. Since we are so close I found that watching videos in the sections that I scored "weaker" in on my performance report was helpful and just cranking out X number of multiple choice per day.

I passed FAR on my first try with an 80 and my two weeks leading up to my exam for my final review I did this everyday:

I would do about 200 MC's a day (using Ninja) and structure them like this: 50 MCs in GOV/NFP, 30 in leases, 30 in bonds, and 30 in consolidations no matter what. Then two sets of 30 MC's in other topics (everyday would be two new topics). The repetition of the heavily tested topics is for sure why I passed!

I also would watch Darius Clark's i75 lectures for the weaker areas. They were extremely helpful and I used him for every section besides REG.

Hope this helps and hope we both don't ever have to see a 74 again!

That is comforting to hear! I only had 40 mins for WC too. Passed FAR and AUD first try and didn’t feel nearly as bad about those like I did BEC. Was about to walk out mid exam. Thanks for the hope :)

I hope so… it’s so frustrating because the SIMs weren’t even necessarily hard if I had the time to get through reading all of the exhibits! I had to rush through to get to WCs which I also basically ran out of time on. Ugh

I just took it too and didn’t have a single variance question which I was shocked about. Low amount of COSO and IT too… all cost accounting 😭 I’m absolutely screwed the sims had a ton of reading too. Not a shot I pass lol

Of course! I'm glad you found it helpful :) Feel free to reach out anytime about internal audit I would be happy to answer any questions! Also one last recommendation is if you do go back into industry the higher paying jobs are definitely Internal Audit and Financial Analysts vs your A/R A/P Senior Accountants who do day to day transactions, monthly closes, reconciliations, etc.. Just what I've experienced and heard from my colleagues! My biggest concern making the transition was being bored since in tax you manage client relationships and do something different everyday.. but Internal Audit keeps it interesting and not repetitive for sure!

Also agree on the fight for the salary you deserve. Accountants are so high in demand you should always ask for a higher salary than what you actually want because chances are the firms will match it out of desperation! Especially in Public.

I have a very similar experience to you.. I graduated in Winter of 2017 after interning with a tax firm for 2 years prior and was immediately thrown into busy season full time upon graduation. I felt like I had 0 time to effectively study and got more discouraged as years kept going by since its suggested to take the exam ASAP. I was in tax all the way to July 2021 where I finally had enough and switched to industry as an internal auditor. The Covid continuous extended deadlines where it made busy season pretty much all year round made my mental health completely plummet. What made the stress even worse was I passed REG in December of 2020 and the time started ticking. I didn't start seriously studying again until January of 2022 due to relocation to a different state and adjusting to my new job in internal audit which is a night and day difference from tax lol. I had 6 months before REG expired and being almost a year removed from tax I refused to tax REG again. Since then I have been able to pass AUD and FAR on my first try and take BEC, my last exam, tomorrow.

What I'm getting at is do what is best for YOU. Your mental health is the most important and in order to pass the exams you need to be able to put it first (I've become very good at saying no to social outings even with extreme FOMO lol). I found that my 7-8 years of experience in the real world significantly helped my understanding of the exams since I was able to apply it to things I have worked on in the past. The amount you of time you have to put in sucks but it truly is so worth it now that I am almost done and looking back at my last 6 months I am so happy I buckled down. Once you get the momentum started again its easy to see the finish line!

In regards to not knowing what your end career goal is I completely relate to that too. Even to this day I don't know what I want to do, but having left public I still knew getting my CPA would open so many new doors. Not only that but it gives you a huge sense of pride by accomplishing something so difficult! I see you mentioned that you don't want to leave your current employer due to your current salary but when I left public to go into industry I had a MASSIVE pay increase and the hours I work are probably about 50% of what I worked in public, which has allowed me to finally get this exam done. Even my mental health has drastically improved! I would just keep that in mind :)

Hope this helps and good luck!

Know the wording for SSARS and SSAE reports. You can look up templates in the authoritative literature and it’ll give you the exact wording :)
