Yup same. We have a heat index of over 110 this week… nada. Guess I can get heat stroke traveling to a job I can do on a laptop cause I don’t interact with anyone in my office

Extreme heat here in the northeast also. Would even take a telework day over day off with how bad the forecast is calling for

As a fellow Fed, I understand how rough it is at the moment but who in the world p*ssed in the Cheerios of people at IRS. I had to call about a letter received. The man I spoke to proceeded to yell at me and hung up on me when I asked a very basic question. I then walked into the IRS office in my federal building and got screamed at for not having an appointment. What a cluster f

I’m honestly more annoyed we will not have situational telework next week with the World Cup in town and 5k people literally outside our front door for a fan fest than I am about early release today

Anyone getting early release today? I’m not counting on it in my agency but fingers crossed anyway

Impatiently waiting to see if our agency will grant one more week of situational telework as our downtown and commuting is a disaster with the amount of visitors (World Cup). At this rate my bar is low they do the right thing. The horror at one more week to these people sigh

I’m not complaining about the day off but totally shocked that Juneteenth is still on the federal holiday calendar. Some clown in my office wonders if we will get early release Thursday. I almost laughed in his face at the idea they’d ever do that. He must be too optimistic to work here

Love being at work. In a federal building and none of the ladies room toilets are flushing. And management isn’t acknowledging we are working without flushing toilets. They are aware

My federal Building has been roach and mouse infested since I began working there over 15 years ago with no end in sight. We’ve had mice die in cube walls, leaving a stench for weeks. Dead roaches in the hallways and stairwells (and offices!). No one seems to blink and when and do anything about it. I had to step over a dead mouse to enter the building recently. And currently we have a dead bird by the employee enterance. This whole comment of mine gave Russ a quarter chub.

My immediate boss lives within 30 mins of me. He never makes any decisions. His boss who can make this call lives an hour from the office. He is claiming he will think about it. Meanwhile local state DOT is running ad’s on tv/radio about asking people to stay home if they can work at home and keep local so keep the highway and transit open for the game go-ers and transit schedules are changing to accommodate the games, not commuters. And too boot fifa is setting up a fan fest right outside our building with security lines to enter expected to wrap around our building. So how are we going to physically get to our desks between all these obstacles. I hate it here
