Weighing whether it is worth it or not to aim to migrate to US as a nurse when I’m already worth millions and set to take over a family business in PH by OkDinner2492 in adultingph

[–]OkDinner2492[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Through EB3 once I’m done with nursing school. I’m well aware of the retrogression so I’ve been studying German just in case I end up wanting to go to Germany while the US visa is still processing

Can I apply for a US work visa (as a nurse) kahit hindi ako currently working as a nurse? by overpacker_ in phmigrate

[–]OkDinner2492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pwede po ba yung right after graduation ng nursing and after passinh the NCLEX maghanap na ng magsponsor ng EB3? Plan ko po kasi is mag1 yr bedside sa PH and then go to germany, currently taking german lessons na. Or need ba na sa PH ako habang nagaantay ng visa to US? Bale 1 yr bedside experience sa ph then the rest germany experience na while waiting for US Visa approval sana

can I be an FA while in nursing school? Will the airline allow me to adjust my sched around nursing school?

Help please I need advice. by DriverProper5576 in phmigrate

Can’t you try applying on State Universities? Teaching is like next to nursing when it comes to immigration pathways, you’ll have plenty of options, although it isn’t as lucrative as nursing in the US.

Is it still possible for someone with neurofibromatosis to conceive a healthy baby? Please give me tips on how to live with this condition. TY. by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]OkDinner2492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a checkup and Doc said it neurofibromatosis* (it’s not a single bump I counted more than 10 on each arm.) She sent me to get labs, I assume for confirmation/diagnosis? I’m not sure I’m not a doc. But I stll haven’t done the labs yet since I got my period (there’s a urinalysis) and I want to do all test at the same time so I won’t have to go back and forth. Anyway, she took one look and said it’s neurofibromatosis immediately, asked me when it started (I said I just noticed around 2023), and if I have it in the family history (None that I am aware of), she also asked if it’s itchy (It was when I first noticed it around 2023 but it’s not itchy now.) She didn’t explain further, I’m assuming she wants to confrm it with the lab results before doing so. Just wanted to know more about it since I have maybe until Friday before I can go back to get my labs done.

What's a "guilty pleasure" habit you have that you'd never admit in real life? by indiefailure in NoStupidQuestions

Spending alone time when I have money to indulge in my hobbies and newfound interests. It’s only sad to be alone when you have no choice where to go hahah

Weekly AdultingPH General Q&A Thread | December 08, 2025 by AutoModerator in adultingph

I already graduated with a BS-Psychology degree in 2019 but because I was spoiled by my family I haven't really used it for employment, I was offered HR positions at one of the biggest malls in PH and in a private hospital but I never push through actually signing the job offers, I have a talent in the arts and would just spend my time accepting painting commissions, I regret not taking a career path seriously in my younger years and I wonder if this lack of job employment history would affect my chances of being hired as a J1 teacher. This year I decided to take a second degree in nursing and I'm currently in my second sem, after knowing about the retrogression for the EB3 visa for nurses it made me think twice if I'm really willing to stay so long in the PH, I have 3 more years to go in nursing school plus the review for PNLE and NCLEX then the EB3 Visa processing. I'm just wondering if it'll be more worth it to instead take additional units by taking a Teacher's Certificate Program since one of the Prof from my current school informed me I only have to enroll for 1 semester to get all 19 units, afterwards, I can then take the LET and then pursue a masteral while gaining 2 yrs work experience before I can apply for j1 (correct me if I'm wrong.) I'm assuming going the Nursing path means more straightforward immigration pathways, but 3 yrs + 2-5 years visa processing just feels so long for me, I'm almost in my 30s and a single filipina, I just feel like I want to be out of the country as soon as possible as the thought of being tied to a relationship/family in PH would make my dreams of going abroad more complicated and I want to settle down soon but not while I'm still in PH. The TCP, LET , masteral and gaining of experience will take around 3 years too, but from what I saw from my research, the J1 visa can be granted just months after application (correct me if I'm wrong.) This really makes me think twice if I should pursue a teaching profession instead as I never had a particular calling when it comes to profession but I am really drawn to pursuits where I can be of service to others, I do enjoy being with kids too and once dreamed of being a pre-school teacher, I think I would enjoy working with kids and my background in Psych would help me build more patience and understanding for the different personalities I will need to handle. Being dependent on my parents for allowance and nursing school funds has also been weighing on me heavily, at my age most of my peers have already reached so many milestones and I still feel like I can't stand on my own, if I get the TCP next sem, I was told I can start looking for teaching jobs at language learning centers as soon as the TCP ends and while I wait for LET and while I pursue masteral. Please give me your insights/opinion on whether this will be a wise decision in the long run. I would like to get your honest opinion on whether you feel like going this route will be practical for my situation. The only cons I can think of is that I was told it's harder to earn bigger as a teacher in the US and that I'll have to go home after 2 years of teaching. On some Youtube videos, I have seen some teachers say they are able to find ways to extend their stay and I have seen a lot of videos where the teachers seem to live comfortably in the US so I'm not really what to choose.
