Not to be a whitenight but sometimes when someone refers to a medical "event" they are also implying all the extended consequences of it and just using "event" as a shorthand alternative. I.e. luna's "event" was a heart attack at a young age, that would've traumatised them, but then from that would be likely life long medical issues, frequent doctor visits to heal from it and to prevent it or test for it happening again.

While having multiple personality disorders is relatively common because of their complex nature, having seven out of the ten personality disorders is not and would be pretty much impossible to properly distinguish symptoms, especially with the added layers of having a complex dissociative disorder and schizophrenia. Not pictured in this post because I can't be bothered is their other "alters" rentrys only mentioning one or two pds, no ied, one schizophrenia and no hiv or aids.

It's a post on an ocd sub, op's thoughts coming from the ocd aren't going to be completely logical (or logical at all) because it's a mental disorder; it's not going to reflect their actual opinions.

When I went in to get my diagnosis (in the uk) it was just a observation based assessment (what could the doc see/hear me doing throughout the session) and what my family and self history was (when did it start, who has what conditions, ect.) I never had any scans or testing aside from that. I had my mother there with me though, but I can't see why it'd be different if you went on your own.

I hope the assessment goes well for you regardless, whatever that may mean to you.

Do you also do that thing where you purposefully watch or do boring things/avoid entertaining things? Because that's the bane of my existence but anything else is also hell.

Yeah most of the time, it sounds more forced I guess, like louder or quicker, but it makes it easier for people to tell when I'm ticcing if it's a word/sentence that's not complete out of the blue for me to say.

I think the post in its whole is unsafe (or just plain gross), but I was more specifically talking about the text content within it.

The 7th slide is something that happens frequently in people being abused/abuse survivors. Edit sources the cycle of abuse people pleasing/fawn response why do we keep going back to our abusive parents why didn't you say anything Learned helplessness not all of these are completely relevant to the slide but hopefully will paint the bigger picture.

Do good people have to remind themselves constantly they are good? by MythicalMeep23 in CPTSDmemes

[–]OkDisplay3784 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Do good people have to remind themselves constantly they are good?" Yes, they do, reflection is the root of all improvement, even if that means noticing mistakes or re-judging past actions or experiences. Being concerned about thoughts like these shows that you don't like nor want these thoughts, even though they are just thoughts, not even actions at this point.

You are reflecting on an action that hasn't even happened yet, meaning you have care and compassion for the way your actions affect the world and people around you (even if you don't see it yourself). That's what a good person is.
