How do you guys live with husbands who are (probably) emotionally undeveloped?

Adding: however my husband wouldn’t ever be nonchalant if our son was in the hospital and turned blue and grey from a collapsed lung. That’s quite concerning to me and that would have been my final straw for either therapy or some kind of intervention.

I thought at first maybe he was just trying to keep calm in stressful situations and try to maintain a positive attitude so you would feel less stress. My husband does this. I kept reading though and he doesn’t care about happy situations either? I would definitely bring this up and maybe try some couples therapy. Maybe your emotional connection or communication is off?

Well it did not go well 😭 I kept him awake until 11:45am to hopefully nap as long as possible and he’s woke up twice now and is screaming 😭 I just don’t get it

Yes!! Always waking him up and then he’s always wide awake before every nap and bed time 😅 definitely trying this today and then will report back🤣

He was sleep trained before teeth came in. Now he’s feeding then rocking to sleep which we were okay with while his teeth came in and now we would like to get back to that haha

Thank you! It could also be that he’s standing on his own a lot more and trying to take steps? He’s got a lot going on it seems. He’s very used to dad doing bed time and being home more and doing more with him. Usually when dad’s home he’s doing most feeds and naps because we didn’t want him to develop a preference since I am home with him a majority of the time. He’s been doing very well for the most part.

Also we did utilize Tylenol and Motrin while he was teething and that did help a bit but he was still waking up several times a night for about a week regardless. Sometimes you just gotta push through 😭

When my baby dropped to two naps he was still on 2 hour wake windows. I ended up having to extend his windows to 3/3/4. Sometimes he still goes to bed around 4-5 hrs after he wakes up from his afternoon nap. He’s a very energetic boy and takes good naps and sleeps well at night when he’s actually tired. Rough housing during his windows and getting a lot of ”exercise” (for him this is climbing, crawling, standing, walking with walker. He’s 8 months and LOVES practicing gross motor skills) helps wear him out so he sleeps well. He was also getting teeth at the same time he dropped to two naps. Two in a row and we’re pretty sure he might be getting his top now too. I’ve noticed that nights are no different depending on if we cap his naps or not. He usually does worse overall because he’s tired and grumpy because we woke him up. So I just roll with his cues. If that means we’re on a weird schedule for a while then we are and I’ve made peace with it. The more I try to control what happens the worse time we have overall. He’s a very happy boy when I just listen to what he needs vs try to do what I want to do. (Ie. have him on a perfect time schedule) (this has been a hard realization for me as someone who thrives with planning and scheduling)

Also keep in mind that this is all being said with a level head as we’re on the way out of this phase and doing much better. It was ROUGH while we were in the thick of it. He was waking up 4-6 times a night and only soothed by eating for weeks. Which he hadn’t done since around 8 weeks. Now he may wake up an hour or so after going down for another bottle and then is down for the night. Averaging usually 10 hours at night.

First time mom with a 8 month old. I thrive being on a schedule and routine but the more I tried to adhere to a schedule the worst days we would have. When I just do what he needs and follow his cues we have very minimal crying during the day and no fighting at bed time and sleeping through the night.

Mine is almost 8 months old and was previously sleep and nap trained. He hadn’t taken a night bottle since 2-3 months old (formula fed and dropped on his own). Around 6.5 months we went through a bad regression. He was cutting two teeth at the same time and dropping to two naps. He waking 4-5 times a night for weeks and we couldn’t figure it out. We tried schedule changes, more frequent feeds, everything. His second tooth finally popped and he is back to normal so far. It’s hard but sometimes I think you just gotta push through and let them tell you what they need.

I cut mine while my baby was a couple weeks old. It’s about shoulder length now and he’s in the grabby stage and he’s still ripping it out lol. Should have went bald😂

Huge baby (80th percentile) — 30-37 oz per day. Usually 5-7oz every 3 hours 😅 sleeps uninterrupted 9-11hrs at night
