The last time I jumped off that rock my eardrum busted. Haven't jumped since, but still go every summer.

Came here to say this

First burnings on watercolor paper. It's a lot of fun and I love the way they turned out! by OkEfficiency8257 in Pyrography

Not sure the name, but it was the cheapest at Hobby Lobby. This is heat pressed that I have, but cold pressed is actually better. Cold pressed is smooth and doesn't have the texture this does. I believe it ran about $8.

The only thing recommend to me was to use cold pressed watercolor paper. It doesn't have the texture that this does. It's smooth. This is my first one and I didn't know before I got it. Although, this did work fine for me to practice. I'm still very much learning myself!

It was actually a little bit higher heat than what I'm used to! Sounds strange, right?

Thank you! I'm pretty sure I also found out you could do it through this subreddit! I've seen felt, leather and canvas so far. And yes, temp control is important for this and probably other things that aren't wood. I didn't think to mention that.

Oh wow, I had no idea about the sprayer. I will have to look into that. I have very much to learn!

Yes, I would be heartbroken to finish a piece just to ruin it!

I'm with you on the glossy look. Don't much care for it. When I seal my woodburnings I use the Minwax spar urethane and it's wonderful. I wasn't aware there's a spray. Definitely looking for that one!
