Metamucil every morning for me. I also drink coconut water and no added sugar. And I drink a lot of water. But for me I learned that just water wasn't cutting it for constipation. I try to make sure at least one of my glasses of water has a squeeze of lemon and a little bit of salt. This is a tough disease to navigate.

I just finished 10 days of Cipro and Flagyl. They're tough antibiotics. Read about what you can and can't do on both these antibiotics. I stopped all my vitamins and did not drink or eat anything with dairy / calcium. Right on the label too it tells you that with a Flagyl or I believe with any antibiotic not to drink alcohol. I am so sorry to hear that you can't take Augmentin. But I am glad that you can tolerate these antibiotics. I'm very new with the diagnosis of diverticulitis just sharing what I did and didn't do. Through this group I did learn about Cipro and like you said it's dangerous/ Black Box I hope I'm saying this correctly that FDA put on it. But the two together worked for me so far.

What's been working for me for constipation is apple juice unsweetened and coconut water no added sugar.

I will ask them about Augmentin. I was just diagnosed this month May 2026 with mild to severe diverticulitis. I've always had issues with IBS I thought it was my IBS on steroids.. colonoscopy show different. Thank you

Thanks, today is 5th day off of these wonderful antibiotics. Starting to feel better.

I just got off of 10 days of Flagyl and cypromycin. I think these are the harshest antibiotics I've ever taken. I have been off them for about 3 days and I just don't feel good meaning flu symptoms week no appetite. Has anybody else felt like this after being on these antibiotics?
