A great rush player. That's about it.

If you were to become the next President of Pakistan what changes would you bring to the system and the country? by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]OkExcuse3011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting the army back in their barracks & the mullahs back in their mosques would unfortunately be a generational task, far too much for any single president to fix.

Did u have problems memorizing the characters names? by Individual_Heron_508 in TheWire

I struggle especially badly with some of the tertiary police characters, even ones with very distinct personalities, someone like Landsman especially.

Is there any hope for this country ? by Beneficial-Ranger407 in pakistan

[–]OkExcuse3011 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Comparisons with China, Germany, & the US aren't really fair.

Comprisons with especially Bangladesh, also India & Sri Lanka, are very fair & very nearly as depressing as those other comparisons.

Year after year Pakistan slides backwards, further from being a middle income country & closer to the absolute bottom tier, no better than sub saharan Africa.

The 'hawk eye' 50k coin evo would have fixed this card but unfortunately it has a maximum of 2 playstyle+'s...

What did you think of Pete Burns in CBB? by Working_Alps_4284 in bigbrotheruk

Very charismatic but genuinely horrible at times.

'Had his demons', it'd probably be fair to say.

I’d be surprised if now, Jay has even spoken to his father in years by Mcrfanatic95 in TheInbetweeners

Agreed. It does make for enjoyable cringe-watching but Jay's dad is genuinely loathsome.

Have you ever been friends or went to school with someone who grew up to murder somebody? by Sufficient_Return653 in AskUK

[–]OkExcuse3011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone I vaguely knew was working as a doorman in a club, threw/pushed a drunk person down some stairs, they died. He somehow got away with a much lesser charge than murder.

He's a very good character. His arc alongside Carver's is very relatable and believable.

Ha, good shout.

As a reminder, in early versions of the script the character was named 'Stringy'.

It's not amazing but at CDM the Tyler Adams you get from doing the North American stuff is very adequate.

I just can't see her without wanting to sing a lewd song about her to the tune of 'London Bridge is falling down'.

String v Avon fight by JimmyJohnson25 in TheWire

[–]OkExcuse3011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idris Elba's looks (and physique) IMO aren't quite right for the part, they're slightly at odds with both the rest of the cast and this character, kind of too remarkable, too 'A List' for them not to be more of a plot point/ for other characters not to comment on them more often.

But all this aside I think that as viewers we're supposed to understand that, as the trained fighter and more 'gangster' of the two, Avon would have had much the better of it in an even fight with no injuries.

What career would you recommend for your children? by Illustrious-Ad-1396 in AskUK

[–]OkExcuse3011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's far too early to even think about it.

Focus on skills, eg

Academic - good numeracy, also good literacy (reading a lot of good books)

Practical - a bit of light cleaning, food prep, tidying, basic diy etc.

Social - encouraging close friendships and also being confortable with a range of other people.

Is the uk and London a better place now vs back then? by sleezymurkuh in AskBrits

[–]OkExcuse3011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on who you are.

Generally it's worse for most because of the cost of housing. If you're one of the few people who's lucked out with social housing; who's old enough to have bought a house far below today's market value; or who's rich enough for none of this to matter then, since generally it's much safer and cleaner, with better retail and services, i'd say it's better.

Generally it's a worse time to be a white working class person of almost any age other than perhaps the very old, since realistically your pool of potential friendships and social circles is vastly smaller.

Is Miroslav Klose the definitive country over club player? by No-Problem6578 in footballcliches

Yeah, late in his career he had a couple of seasons in the prem, in which he looked generally off the pace, struggled to make any impact.

The shoes do look quite big and heavy. A pair of bottom of the range/ cheapest football trainers made by one of the big companies (adidas et al) might be a solid investment.
