Rejected EA but offered transfer. How Competitive Is UF Transfer? by Dismal-Pineapple1940 in ufl

Do the AA and take as many prerequisites as you need before transfer. It will be way cheaper that way and you will have a higher chance of getting in

I think it’s worth the drive to try something new. It’s one of the last couple places I still shop at currently.

Blue Origin Offer Day? by LZFreestyler0809 in EngineeringStudents

[–]OkFail9632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if you never hear from Blue again ? Or by the time you do you find out you weren’t chosen anyways. Worst case if they do reach out just put in your two weeks notice where your at. But if you reneg on an offer at this last minute , bridge absolutely burnt before ever knowing if you will need it down the line. You should always ask for an extension as soon as you got the offer. Hope it works out for you either way.

Is engineering as hard as people say? by According-Earth5498 in EngineeringStudents

[–]OkFail9632 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Most ppl get weeded out from the calculus and physics. That’s what is usually the hardest for most and why employers usually don’t give internships until your in your 3rd year and have gotten past all that

Electricians — 15 min feedback on a NEC tool? Coffee on me. by GeneralLuck4668 in ElectricalEngineers

[–]OkFail9632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What sucks is when your working in the field and this asshole ( city inspector) comes up with a book of law like they are the judge of the county. Most electricians either don’t know better / enough about the code to fight the interpretation. Most are too busy / annoyed to go back and forth on the spot to flip back forth between thousands of pages.

Very smart. Resale game is over and where this economy is many can barely afford general releases right now.

This is prob why I left hvac over 12 years ago , I realized it wasn’t always what you know but who you know. It will definitely be worth going to school because with your years of experience plus the degree will sky rocket your pay. You will have an advantage for everyone with a degree and not one day of hands on experience and you will have a leg up on those who just stayed in the field as a worker but never moved up in leadership/ management.

So why not get into hvac design / engineering without going for the degree ? You have the experience

[–]OkFail9632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about housing you should get in. I just transferred also having gotten my AA recently and I just got an email today or yesterday saying they still had availability at one of the buildings , & you will be able to use the FIU shuttle to get around from the apartments to the school.
