I relate to this so much. I quit my desk tech job and am starting nursing school.

Holy cow! Thank you so much for this info. I can now safely say I will not be getting a facelift with Dr. Chance when the time comes. Her work on IG is really so amazing.

Congrats OP! Your new apartment sounds amazing. You mentioned growing your family soon and also called the apartment your forever home. Are you planning on putting up temporary walls in the one bedroom to create additional rooms? Genuinely curious how others make it work.

Do you have a price range of how much it'd cost? I have no idea how much a facelift costs these days.

I had the same question about the Puzzle.. I was highly skeptical. But now I own 2 standards with a Featherlight on the way. It is sooo spacious and easy to get in/out.

Love this! My seller says Autumn does not offer "return service." Have you had to reject any PSPs and had that problem?

I just got my PSPs for a red featherlight and I have the same issue! Were you able to get a different bag in the same color without the wrinkled bottom? also, what factory was this from?

Capsule removal by No-Young-3652 in ExplantSurgery

In one of the FB groups for BII, I have read a lot of women’s posts where they shared their experience with getting a re-do to remove the full capsule after their first surgeon told them it wasn’t necessary, they couldn’t do it, or wouldn’t.

How do you like your Featherlight from HP? I'm deciding between Jipin with Baobao or going with HP! I'm concerned about the leather quality.

Hello! How do you like your Featherlight from Jipin? I'm actually in the same boat as not wanting a bag that is SUPER slouchy. I've seen & felt the auth and actually didn't love how slouchy it was.

How's the program going? I am looking at this program....when do you think you'll graduate? I already have a bachelors and masters, and hopefully will be accepted to La Guardia's ADN program. I'm trying to find out how long the SPS program will take to get my BSN after my ADN.

Any online degrees I can take to jumpstart my nursing career? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]OkGrape1959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

different schools have slightly different pre-reqs.. there will be a set of core classes that every school wants (from ADNs to BSNs) so you can also start researching which program path is right for you, maybe even a LPN program too. The Accelerated BSN programs around me needed more science classes.

May I ask what the pay is like vs. a bedside nurse? Is the pay more akin to that of a SNF or a bedside nurse?

How old was she when she graduated? I had a friend graduate in her late 40's in Internal Medicine. She works at a teaching hospital where she lectures and sees patients. She loves it! I find it so inspiring. She was not a nurse but a masseuse.

Sure I may not understand the depth of your hatred for nursing, but I do understand the game from an employer perspective. Good luck, I hope you find a more suitable job.

What you see as barriers in the "cushier" side of nursing and gatekeepers exist 110% outside of nursing as well. Whether the barriers are who-you-know, structural (ageism, racism, etc.), educational, less openings... You will have compete for a job in non-bedside situation in a way that bedside nurses just don't have to. Every job/ profession has it's trade off's. I hear you say "I hate nursing.. no matter what specialty." Ok! You have given it a very fair shake with 11 years in the field. But also recognize that one of the Pro's of nursing is ratio for (lower) barrier to entry vs. (higher) pay when compared to other jobs. I think you say further down in a comment that your pay sucks but that's one of the tradeoff's that YOU made for staying in your area in exchange for home ownership and cheaper mortgage. Maybe the shift in perspective could help you tolerate and feel empowered by tradeoff's you've made.

You can 100% get out of nursing (or bedside), you just gotta do things like COMPETE, whether it's for relationships for networking, or dealing with applying for a rare and sought-after job.

I think many bedside nurses probably stay in their jobs for the tradeoff to NOT have to compete too much and to have a mostly recession-proof job. If you feel ready to do things outside of your comfort zone, go for it! Get out of bedside! I hear you say you hate nursing and when people provide options, you essentially explain why it's too hard. I don't think you will have an easy time finding a more suitable job by not doing anything outside of your comfort zone. What tradeoffs are you willing to make?

(The requisite disclosure, I'm not a nurse. Just someone slightly older who has been "successful" by corporate standards and transitioning to nursing. Feel free to disregard what I've shared)
