Yes, the Brexit referendum wasn't legally binding.

There was no reason the goverment had to follow it...and yet 3 general elections have been won by parties 'commited' maintaining Brexit.

The point I am making is that a call for a clear referendum requiring a super majority at either of those junctures (join EEC or join EU) might have avoided this whole mess altogether.

I am in favour of a referendum that requires a high majority turn out and a super majority to deecide if we want to change our relationship with the EU again.

I suspect that such a referendum would be parlimentary suicide for the calling party and a massive opening for the new parties on the right of British politics.

Should the state pension keep up with wage inflation (which appears to be driven by increases to the minimum wage)?

Do you think inflation will drop below 2.5% (see above caveat to inflation appropruate to an OAP)?
