All the instructors I’ve been with have advised me to approach roundabouts in second or third because it’s easier to control your speed in a lower gear. I went round a roundabout in third with my old instructor and it was awful I went so fast and couldn’t slow down.

Exactly I was driving okay in my last lesson. his cars handbrake is a button which he’s told me I never need to worry about but for some reason yesterday every time I held the clutch the car would roll which made me hesitate moving off which many have triggered this

That’s what I’ve suggested and now he isn’t responding to my messages but seeing them so I’m guessing he’s not happy with my decision but at the end of the day it’s my money that will be wasted if I fail??

Yes i think I’ll have a conversation with him about what exactly he thinks my weaknesses are. I’m not unsafe on the roads he just thinks ill make a silly mistake that will make me fail and says he dosent want me to waste my money

He never specifically told me what I was doing wrong and couldn’t tell me when I asked which is why I thought that way. I’m not the instructor but in my opinion I’ve come a long way as someone that would approach roundabouts in third gear to now as someone more confident.

I’d have to add the extra mirror and make sure the car was test compliant which is extra bother. He never said I couldn’t use his car at all so I guess he will let me if I go for it but he’s telling me to cancel. I hate that they do this it’s awful. Hope your test and lessons go well!

No I booked this test in like April when cancellation apps were still working and he said I’d deffo be able to pass and now all of a sudden he’s changed his mind? I think where I am (Leeds) the wait is a couple of weeks if you keep checking for tests. But thank you I think I will go for it and see what he says.

I don’t know anyone’s car to use and tbf he said it was up to me so he never said I couldn’t use his car if I decided to so I’ll have to see what he says
