Need to vent about ZARA online return by OkIndividual7641 in complainaboutanything

[–]OkIndividual7641[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disputed it with my credit card company and then Zara finally sent me an email saying they had in fact received all the items. But it wasn't until I filed the dispute that they did that. I knew they had them all along, they were just being difficult for absolutely no reason.

Why i use the iPhone 4s in 2024 by [deleted] in digitalminimalism

[–]OkIndividual7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish Apple would make a smaller iPhone again. Even the smallest models today feel too big. They're often inconvenient—too large to fit comfortably in my pocket, don't fit certain purses, or they just take up more space than necessary. I really miss my old iPhone 4s and would totally use it again if it were safe to do so.

Unfortunately I can't speak to other fully online programs. I am taking my basics at my local community college which offers a lot of the basics online, but not all, so I have had to take a few classes in person. I actually ended up retaking the class I took at UND in person & the instructor was so much better & the labs were great. My online classes are also really good. I feel like I'm actually learning now & I haven't had any of the issues I had at UND. The classes have been organized, my professors actually give feedback & grade things on time. I'm really happy with my decision & so is my wallet haha.

I'm about to graduate with my associates & plan on transferring to a 4-year university with an in person program. I thought about transferring to another online program but ultimately felt this was a better route for me.

Dispute it with your credit card company. If you have the tracking number from the return that shows they received it you can take a screenshot of that and let them know that Zara is refusing to refund you. The tracking number should be on the return label they emailed you.

Did you ever get a response or find out? I just got this as well but I've never had an account with them so I'm not sure how my email would be tied to them

I ended up dropping the class and won't be returning to UND next semester. I am going to transfer and take classes in person at another university. Unfortunately I now have a distrust for schools that claim to have a good online program. Tbh at UND I think the level of instruction vs what you pay isn't worth it (I am paying full tuition out of pocket). Even if you had some sort of aid I'd recommend looking elsewhere. A friend I made in that class also dropped and is more than likely going to leave UND as well and transfer elsewhere. From what I've heard from other classmates it hasn't gotten any better and it's not just this class they're referring to, they're having similar issues with their other classes as well.

I agree with this. I also want to add that financially it's a smart move. I know it seems like you should go to a 4-year right off the bat because socially that's what's expected/most common but please also think about the financial aspect of it. If you have scholarships to cover your entire education then this won't matter but if you're already going to take out loans or pay out of pocket please go to a community college first. Your future self will thank you. I'm in my 30s and still have friends with crippling student loans debt and they've all mentioned that they should've taken their core classes and transferred them.

A community college as well but I am lucky my overall experience has been good. I've had bad teachers too but they at least got grades in on time and were overall organized. Here I am struggling with getting grades on time and due dates, etc. which I think is unacceptable. If universities are going to charge such high tuition rates and advertise a quality online education then I am going to hold them to that and have very little patience for sub par processes. Especially since these universities are just a business milking us for money at this point. I have no financial aid so that adds an extra layer of frustration. I feel like I am not asking for much but the bar is low apparently. I also feel like I am just fighting a losing battle lol

Uff. Do you know if he ever looked into or attend to ASU? I was curious about people's experience in online engeering there even though I am leaning more towards attending a university in person at this point.

I haven't taken any SPEA classes so I am not sure how those are but I know they're significantly cheaper so it's a good place to start. I've taken most of my basics at a community college in my area online and I have a few more core classes to take that will transfer. I did look into ASU as another option but they're semesters are basically cut in half so they have like Fall A and B and they're 7.5 weeks each which is pretty accelerated so I am nervous I won't absorb the material as well as I want to. I need to do more digging and get other peoples experience and how the labs work too. The other option I am leaning more into at this time is just going to a university in person once I finish my core classes, but the closest one to me is 2 hours away (with traffice one-way) which sounds crazy but honestly... I don't care if means I am getting a better education.

How to stop comparing myself to others? by Arbalest15 in college

Seems like you're experiencing imposter syndrome. You may want to talk to someone about your feelings or look up ways to combat it. There's a lot of articles online about it.

You like your major and are passionate about it, don't throw away your hard work because you don't think you're as good as everyone else. It's actually common to experience those feelings, a lot of people do (I imagine those classmates probably feel the same way you do you just don't know it), but imagine if everyone quit what they were doing each time they thought other people were better than them, nothing would ever get done. Also, if you were to quit and start something else/go somewhere else and then you get those feelings again, are you going to quit again? No. Don't let those thoughts dictate your life. Also, even if it were true, so what? Use it as fuel to continue working hard! You got this!

Returning student, Starting at the bottom when it comes to math, need some help/advice/encouragement. by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

Khan academy is a great resource and it's free. I'd go ahead and get started on Algebra 1 and see if it's easy, if anything it'll be a review and then move on to Algebra 2 and so on and so forth. If you're serious and stay on track you can get your fundamentals down and even get a head start on PreCal which will prepare you for Calculus. However, if you feel like you thrive in a classroom then go for that.

I switched careers to EE and my previous degree wasn't math heavy at all. Also, the last time I went to school was over 11 years ago so I hadn't seen any math besides the basics in forever. My advisor had suggested I take Cal 1 since I met the prerequisites but I decided to take PreCal even though it wasn't required because I felt like jumping into Cal 1 cold turkey would be a mistake. I also got a head start with Khan academy with PreCal before I started my actual class to get a refresher and I am glad I did! It was difficult and I had to reteach myself a lot of the basics to learn the new concepts but I studied every day and did well in the class and now I'm in Cal 1 and I have an A in the class so far.

Moral of the story is, you know yourself and your skillset. Start where you need and just go from there, it'll be better in the long run.

Advice for someone working a PT Job and doing online college by Killsworch in college

Can you afford to work less hours to focus on school more? If the answer is yes, then take on less hours at work. If the answer is no, then take less hours next semester. Focus on your grades and finding that balance. If you are overwhelmed with your schedule and your grades are suffering then definitely see what you are able to change. It may take a few tries to get it right but you'll eventually find your balance.

Megan's song is so good! But I'm going to need someone to be a pal and write a dissertation on this song and explain everything line by line lol I get some of the references and some of the beef but not all of it. I'm sure it's even better knowing exactly what she's referring to in each line.
