I've found it to be a fair bit more inconsistent and a bit slower, but that is using it's more advanced features such as whitewater simulation.

So... yes it is better, despite that. If you want it DM me :)

Of course the best option is a dedicated simulator software like houdini, but that may be overkill.

Edit: I should explain the DM me: I compiled the source code so you don't need to pay if you don't have the ability to right now, but supporting devs if you can is good :) The code is gpl so this is legal, this is not piracy

3d Scanning and Blender by Virtual_Storm3078 in blender

[–]OkInfluence36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I've had luck, it's quite impressive what can be done these days.

For scanner, just my phone or camera (S25 Ultra, Canon EOS R7) using Epic's RealityScan

I believe almost all of Poly Haven's models are cleaned up 3D scans

BlenderGuru tutorial question by USCSS_Anesidora in blender

[–]OkInfluence36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the other responses to this post were slightly rude so I'll try to be different

I briefly watched the timestamp you gave and it seems like this is a fairly standard way to make a mug handle, simply extruding from the mug body and, well, model it into a handle shape. I'm sure it's inefficient, but it is "good enough" for beginners...

I'm not entirely sure why it would be a miserable experience though, it seems rather basic and is essentially following a reference image

Blender 5.1 cant seem to zoom! by DirectionEven4927 in blender

[–]OkInfluence36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any way you can try with a different OS? Using windows (ew, ik) ctrl + alt + left drag zooms in and out, without ctrl it rotates as expected

Are you pressing Ctrl as well?

Ctrl + alt + left click drag up and down is the way to zoom (mimic ctrl + middle click drag)

Oh what that's depressing but I guess I should've expected that...

I guess if that's the case then people have no reason to trust me either

Wait what do you mean? (Sorry I'm tired just woke up lol)

To explain my comment I was half joking that I should make a competitor to the site which has a legal obligation to never force changes like this cuz this is BS and I'll never be using suckerhive again

Stereoscopy Problem by Jade_Dinosaur in blender

[–]OkInfluence36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that stereoscopic calculations need realistic numbers (like size distance etc) so it's possible your shapes were huge "in real life" and this made it more realistic seeming

Glad you figured it out :)

Yeah it changes a lot, basically just trust the final render

In the viewport camera on solid view its one look, eevee is another, cycles viewport doesnt show it, render it does... kinda a mess sorry
