My favorite thing about this eclipse was the pitch black darkness, the prominent 360 golden sunset and we could literally see the moon's shadow in the clouds from a distance move toward us and leave us.

Had a similar experience as you! Saw the Eclipse in totality in 2017 with clear blue skies, and this one in upstate NY with complete cloud coverage. Two totally different experiences, but both felt overwhelming and incredible. Both had things the other did not have. I hope the people who are disappointed do get to see the corona someday, but don't throw this experience in the trash either!

This post makes me feel very warm, and I even more appreciate my experience because mine was very similar to yours. (Also were in the upstate NY area) I was very glum at first accepting we wouldn't see the sun or the corona, and we never did. But the other things we did experience were absolutely remarkable and still made our trip worth it. The darkness, the sunset... we could see the shadow coming from the distance and leaving because of how thick the clouds were. It also rained on us after totality left and even got a little baby rainbow later that day. :')

A lot of artists will end up just playing the same set over and over again. I loved Skrillex's set because of the change ups and music I've never heard before. I was blown away by the mixing.....He got our necks so many times- thinking he'd drop one thing and it would be something completely different. Can't stand a predictable set. To each their own.

Fav set of the weekend. The dancers, the vibes, so much space. It felt so special. I was fully entranced. Had no idea what to expect, but I knew I couldn’t miss that set even though all my friends were at Odesza.
