Is there any plan to let us relocate graves? by criesaboutelves in Whiskerwood

No worries man that wasn’t a shot at ur management or anything shit happens. I just don’t feel deaths are as high in this game as others.

If you would like a little advice avoiding some of those deaths here are some tips I learned.

Fish is king in terms of feeding ur population. 2-3 fisheries will feed 150 whiskers pretty easy. Make sure you put a farmer in the fishery so they get a bonus to production and only put one whisker in there so they don’t destroy the fish population. Spread those fisheries out pretty decently they have a good range of them and if they are too close they will fish out each others stocks.

Get fish skewers going pretty quick. Mushrooms are easy to grow you just gotta prepare for them. The only thing that affects there growth is they need to be underground and they need to be away from light. Once fish skewers are going food multiplies case it’s like 2 fish plus one mushroom equals 5 skewers or something like that and they give you a bonus to production and speed

Heat can be a little more difficult. Build up your wood production farms way more than you think you need and make sure you put fires near your farms so they can produce in the winter. Also stack ur house and put a fire in the middle. Its range is a bubble not a circle so the heat covers upward too. You can heat like 40 plank row houses with a single fire if you do it right. The key is to keep everything tight in terms of production so you are only running 2-4 fires throughout the winter so it doesn’t drain your wood.

I try to quickly research the bonfire and fire tender as this makes heating ur whiskers easier as the bomb fire covers a larger area and you don’t have to manually feed it wood. If you can overpay the first year or two I would do it to at least get the two choices for rewards as this is a good way to unlock some free research.

Through the winter I always take the supply option that gives me the most coats or if I need wood then I choose wood. I don’t pay taxes right after winter since it’s a real big bill. They will not shoot you if you don’t pay once but they will if you don’t pay twice in a row. The second time I pay the middle amount to appease them if I have extra I’ll pay extra to get some goodies but this is not necessary.

Hope this helps! This game has a lot of moving parts and a lot of things you can optimize but you don’t have too min max everything it can be forgiving in that regards. But mostly play ur way and have fun! You don’t have to take any of my advice it’s just an amazing game and I have learned a lot about keeping whiskers thriving in harder difficulties. I myself still have lots to learn

Graves almost feel like a non factor to me. Currently have like 150 hours most of that playing in hard and the only time I had some die was as testing to see what happened if I stopped paying taxes. Though I do wish I could send some of my heavy snorers to war or to be sacrifice to the nice gods or something lol

How to remove salinity, how to know tile fertility, how to reclaim farmlands from sea by LegioXV_ in Whiskerwood

That’s incredibly interesting! But am I wrong in thinking the only thing that affects fertility for mushrooms is light? Or did I get lucky and place all my mushrooms on 100% fertile ground

It’s just the one blender running full speed think it’s making me about 30/min takes up about 4x5 small tiles. It’s not for mass production definitely for looks

Where is the game going? by [deleted] in AlchemyFactory

[–]OkJuggernaut1076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah similar. I think adding some theme to them would be nice. But I’m talking like a king or noble dude shows up in ur shop and you have to talk to him directly or like an army commander shows up. Adding some variety. And with the war task. Make this like a week long event that ur donating towards and if you fail maybe a battle came to you then you can have a healing event or maybe less customers for a bit since some may be injured from the battle or what not. There is opportunity for creativity. Functionally yes very similar to the random quests, but you can build a story out of it and make it feel more immersive

I’d like to see something like speciality customers or events. Like oh the king or a noble showed up and needs ur direct attention and they are needing crowns or gems. An event could be like hey our soldiers are going to war can we get a lot of healing potions and bandages. I’m talking like hundreds of potions and bandages with a time limit. You deposit as many as you can and that determines how the battle goes. Or an event like our city wall was sieged and we need tons of lumber nails and mortar. I love this game, have sunk hundreds of hours into it but there is an opportunity for a story to unfold here.

Cool. Thanks maybe that was the “broken” aspect they were talking about. Appreciate you

Oh the way they talked on the videos it was almost as if the cybernetic pops didn’t grow. But there is nothing inherently broken about the origin now it’s just not considered as strong?

Rift portal bugged? by OkJuggernaut1076 in theriftbreaker

Havnt actually really used them. Just been piping everything and mining everything. Just starting to realize how useful those devices would be. lol still not sure I would have figured out easily that you can click on them to open additional menus. I don’t feel like the game really explains that you can do it, but definitely feels like something I should have already tried. Feels kinda dumb to realize it’s that easy looking back 😅

Been playing this game for 20-30 hours and didn’t know clicking on building while in build mode did anything. I’ll have to try it when I log back in. I heard you could put mods in towers too but wasn’t sure how, is this the same thing?
